More About the Author

I'm the author of eighteen true-crime books. SHATTERED INNOCENCE, the story of Jaycee Lee Dugard is certainly one of the most incredible cases I've written about. Not only the fact that Jaycee and her daughters endured such primitive conditions in the secret compound, but the fact that Phillip Garrido was able to con the justice system for so long. SHATTERED INNOCENCE looks at the story in its entirety from many different angles.
I've traveled all over the American West in researching my books, and they span from the moutains of Wyoming to the sunny beaches of Southern California. From the ranchlands of New Mexico to the fog-shrouded Olympic Peninsula of Washington state.
I've been featured on over a dozen television shows on DISCOVERY ID, E!, TRU TV, and A&E networks.
I'm also the author of e-books on Kindle - NIGHTMARE IN PARADISE, THE CAMPGROUND KILLER,WHEN THE STREETS RAN RED, WILD CARD, THE FATAL MOMENT, DYSTINY'S LAST JOURNEY, and VANISHED IN THE NIGHT.
DEATH IN THE VALLEY, is a fictional mystery set in 19th century Yosemite. And THE DARK SIDE OF BOHEMIA is about bohemian poet Nora May French.
Here are the true-crime books I've written:
ROPE BURNS
SAVAGE
LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON
DANGEROUS ATTRACTION
MARRIED TO MURDER
KILL OR BE KILLED
UNHOLY SACRIFICE
DEADFALL
MONSTER SLAYER
KILLER DAD
DRIVEN TO MURDER
LUST TO KILL
RIVERS OF BLOOD
MOST WANTED KILLER
BLOOD FRENZY
SHATTERED INNOCENCE
AND THEN SHE KILLED HIM
THE GIRL IN THE LEAVES

This was my first book on Kindle n I am glad I chose it. All three stories were interesting but they could have been a little bit more details, a few photos of the crime scenes, etc. Robert Scott is one of the authors I can rely on for a good true crime story/book.

Well, I'm not really sure how to start this.

Let's go back to the year 2001. I was 16 years old, and I had just dropped out of highschool. General teenaged angst combined with a less than ideal home life meant I was severely depressed basically all of the time. I had no real friends to spend my time with, so I took solace in friends I made on the internet. I was an active user of livejournal, which is an online blogging site that allows you to connect with other members. It was there that I met a girl who lived in California, literally on the other side of the county from my NJ home, and I was immediately intrigued by her. She was an amazing writer, and she was beautiful. She was a little bit older than me and she was everything I wanted to be. I looked up to her. She was the coolest, most glamorous person in the world in my eyes.

We started talking. First bonding over how we both frequently dyed our hair unnatural colors and loved The Smashing Pumpkins, we quickly started sharing our day-to-day struggles with life and depression with one another. We became extremely close. It wasn't long before we were talking every day and I started to consider her my best friend. We clicked in a way that I've never clicked with anyone before or since. We joked about being platonic soulmates, and a boyfriend I had once remarked that we were so close that it was "creepy." I would brag about my awesome friend from California to anyone who would listen.

In August of 2004, I was having a bad time. I had recently broken up with my boyfriend, was fighting with all of my friends over it, and was generally very, very down. Of course, I went to my best friend for some comfort.

Inexpensive and easy read, but no Shakespeare. It is something to read if you have a rainy, boring type of day.
