The issue of race is never an easy one to discuss, but HOW TO DEAL WITH WHITE PEOPLE by author David Goldberg does it in a way that is both light-hearted and filled with real truth. The main message I got from the book? Let's talk about what is really going on at times between people of different skin tones. Don't expect people to be anything more (or less) than what they are---and when their real truth is revealed, let it serve as a reason to discuss the topic openly and honestly.

Though an indictment on some levels of masked racism, Goldberg does the job of a skilled author by making the reader think.

I am the author of a similar book called Plain Talk-Everything you ever and never wanted to know about Racism and Stereotypes. Volume 1. I agree with another reviewer who gave note to the brevity of this book. I also believe that when books drag on too long, it takes away from the reader being able to grasp important points. I am a strong proponent of people of all races creating similar books, so that we can understand one another. Now we need books like this from Asians, Hispanics, etc. I highly recommend this book to all races. Keep an open mind!!!

I just finished reading this book. Here is my final review:

There were some valid points brought out that may be hard for some to swallow, but people will find fault in the delivery. This book stems from years of white supremacy dominating the face of American culture. White people need to read this book so that they can see how many people of color feel about them. You'll have to read this book and decide for yourself.

Plain Talk - Volume 1

Sometimes you wanna read a book on a touchy subject but you look at the last page and it's 407 or something inconsiderate of the fast paced world we gotta shuffle through on the daily.

This book jumps right to it, pulls no punches and gets outta there in nearly 100 pages.

I'm tempted to email the site and ask for his suggested reading materials.

Excellent resource to read before the next Michaeal Richards, Don Imus or Rush Limbaugh outburst.

HOW TO DEAL WITH WHITE PEOPLE Although the subject is presented in a light hearted and, as Goldberg says "It's an easy read", the subject is far from being light hearted at all. He deals with every day acts of white people that are so familiar and true. My favorite advice given is: "Loose Lips Sink Ships" - "Don't talk to police." (page 41)

The author talks about every day interactions between whites and non whites that have been passed down through generations. He raises serious issues in a way that you are able to understand the real racism that exists in today's society. And that this racist behavior has been around for years.

In all my years in the field of human resources, I have never seen racism dealt with like the author does. If every white person and non whites too, would read "How To Deal With White People", we would have a basis for a true and meaningful discussion about racism and maybe, just maybe, put an end to this mind set.
