A Guilty Pleasure. Great Escapist Entertainment.,
This review is from: DEATH BY THE DROP (Paperback)
John Steele is one of the great Smart Alec's of our time. I laughed out loud at some of the outrageous things he says and does in this enjoyable tale. I really enjoyed the quickly moving story that kept you wondering what's going to happen next. The characters were great and the story always keeps you wondering who are the "good" guys and who are the "bad" guys. Some times it's a fine line. Once the adventure was on, I didn't want to put down the book. great read.

When's the next book coming out?,
This review is from: DEATH BY THE DROP (Paperback)
A great new take on the world of vampires. It was hard to put down. The characters and plot just pull you in and the attention to details of the many locations visited by the characters adds a realism not found in many vampire books. There were times while reading the book I found myself laughing out loud. Highly recommend for new and old vampire enthusiasts.

Perfect Summer Read,
By
This review is from: DEATH BY THE DROP (Paperback)
Death By The Drop is a great Summer novel; a quick & easy read that is perfect for a long weekend get away. It is fast paced, with your emotions changing quickly - from initially feeling sorry for John when he catches his wife cheating on him, but then turning to laugh-out-loud humor as you follow John through all the crazy antics and shenanigans he gets himself into.
Mr. Massie pulls out all the stops ensuring this book is anti-traditional when you think of vampire novels... combining humor, wackiness, and touches of history to keep you hooked all the way through.

Death by the Drop is probably one of the most enjoyable books I've read in awhile. Since I've been to New Orleans five times throughout the years and following John Steele through the streets of that city, made my heart yearn to go back. Tim has a knack for making you feel like you're there, at least for this reader! I thought it was a very well written story with colorful characters, but Tim's sense of humor is what kept pulling me back into this crazy story of the undead. Part of the story that I personally related to was the relationship between John and Susan. At times when you get hurt by someone and revenge is the only thing on your mind, you'll find, that as time goes by and you realize that a huge favor was bestowed upon you by their leaving, life becomes wonderful again. Great job Tim!! I can't wait for the next installment.

A Good Read,
By Danville Reader (Danville, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: DEATH BY THE DROP (Paperback)
This is the first vampire book I have read and I might have to try a few more. Death by the Drop is an enjoyable way to get acquanited with John Steele and his "family". The author's wealth of historical information was presented in a manner that was helpful to the reader (and to the book's hero, John Steele) without coming off as a boring lecture. The pacing of the book made it a great read.

New Life for the Undead,
This review is from: DEATH BY THE DROP (Paperback)
"Death by the Drop" is a real page turner.
Using wit and "over the top" imagination, Massie has breathed new life into the world of the undead and introduced a different twist to the vampire genre in the character of John Steele. As the story ends, one can only wonder what lies ahead for John Steele; a sometimes avenging angel, a sometimes pure pleasure seeker but always a smart mouth vampire.

Entertaining and Unusual,
By Ryder (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: DEATH BY THE DROP (Paperback)
The author puts a fun, lighthearted spin on the ghoulish world of blood-drinkers. Cocky hero John Steele plunges into an unusual side of New Orleans life, finds himself transformed into a vampire while retaining his human personality, and promptly gets himself into one fix after another. All ends well, with help from Steele's new community of friends. Steele is a likable hero, a sort of 46-year-old adolescent who now has the next few centuries to polish his new skills. Adult situations.

"Death by the Drop",

"Death by the Drop" was riveting. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. A cover-your-mouth laugh-out-loud story about a recently divorced real estate guy looking for some "action" in New Orlenes. Only to be picked-up and taken home by a lady vampire.
Follow John Steele, now a Sophomore Vampire while he receives tutelage from two lady vampires and a fellow experienced vampire, all while trying to avoid a fellow renegade vampire who is jealous of him. I laughed, and I laughed, and I cried, and I laughed. What a tale of a modern day vampire who tries to live life to its fullest now that he is dead. I read the first 4 chapters straight out of the Amazon box the day it arrived! The day I finished, I strongly considered starting over and reading it again. So entertaining, I bought extras and sent them to my friends so I could share, but no give up my own copy! Tim Massie has an excellent sence of humor and a fresh way of writing as the character's mind wanders in his predicament...while being a brand new vampire learning to harness and refine new super-powers. One never knows what a new vampire goes thru in acclimating to his new "life". Tim answers those questions with excellent humor...but you'll never know if you don't read "Death by the Drop".

An alliterate vampire!,
By Madame Bovary (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: DEATH BY THE DROP (Paperback)
Timothy Massie's humor stands out in this novel. I laughed all the way through, especially when John Steele has adventures with the dim-witted Virgil. The use of alliteration and wordplay goes over Virgil's head but it will keep you in stitches.
