I purchased these phones about 3 weeks ago (and thus cannot tell you about their longevity yet, but assume the best). They work great for us. The sound is very clear. I needed them mainly because I wanted the intercom system, which is awesome. I can now talk with the kids upstairs instead of yelling throughout the house. The intercom unit alone is perfect and works like a true intercom. You can anwer the phone from it too, hands free. You just cannot dial out from it. The goog-411 button is a nice extra. You can always dial that number from any regular phone, it's a free service for everyone, but having it pre-dialed makes it much easier. I;ve used the service in 3 weeks more than I've ever used 411 in my whole life! The one thing that bother us, is that if you happen to answer the phone with another regular phone, not the GE Dect ones, the GE phones keep ringning one or 2 more times, while you're on the "other" phone! So if you try to answer your phone quick (so as not to wake up a baby in my case) and that you pick up another phone than one of your set, you can hear the funky ringing tone still while on the phone. It might have something to do with the phone ring I picked, it might be because it wants to finish the melody, but I haven't tried to change it back to a normal boring ring tone yet to see if it works, since most the time, we pick up with the GE phone and it's not too bothersome. One more negative thing is the blue light on the bottom of the chargers is a bit bright for a bedroom. I put a piece of paper in front of mine to keep the brightness down, it is the same brightness as a night light, so if you like your room very dark, beware. All in all, great phones, great price and they even look great.

We primarily bought the phone for its ability to do paging. We live in a two story house and we were tired of yelling upstairs to tell the kids dinner is ready. We are very satisfied with this product.

These phones work great. I dont use the google button because we are stationed over seas and use a US number with our Magic Jack thats ran through the internet for free international calling. We have had no problems with them. Very good safe buy! Got them really fast considering they didint ship over here. We shipped them to a family member who then shipped them to us, but still get here in less than 2 weeks.

I had high hopes for this phone after doing some internet research. Setup was relatively easy, with intuitive buttons and menus. The first call that I made though, showed me that this was destined to be a techno doorstop. The sound quality was so poor, as to be unusable. It sounds like the phone has some type of automatic gain control that tries to supress any background noise from the other callers location. Even if you turn the volume to the max, you still can not hear the other party. The ringer and dialtone can be ear splitting, but the caller can not be heard. The same call on my 10+ year old 900 Mhz phone, sounds fine. Very disappointing.
