There are raised arrows on the end pieces. If you turn them in the direction of the arrows they pop right onto the vent if you follow the directions on the bag. I don't quite understand why the ends couldn't have been installed at the factory, through -- it should be easy enough to get one off if the length needs to be adjusted. THIS WAS JUST ABOUT THE EASIEST THING I'VE EVER INSTALLED ON ANYTHING!

Once assembled, the vent pops right onto the required places, and stays put. Now I can FINALLY clean the duct without the trauma of having to make the duct go directly onto the fittings -- and no more of those [expletive deleted] screw-on harnesses!

Your mileage may vary, but this is one of the most useful items I've bought recently.

I have a basement level high efficiency gas dryer, which means the hose connection is recessed under the back of the dryer which eliminates most of the sliding snorkel kits on the market and the plain old rigid tubing is a pain to clamp in place, as soon as I get one end mounted the other end always seems to twist/fall off.

The beauty of this system is the plastic ends, you thread them on each side. HINT: This is best done before you expand the tube so it remains rigid and doesn't deform. Once on carefully extend the tube so as not to pull off the ends and the insert the ends into the vents on your wall and drier. I find a bit of persuasion with a small mallet applied to the plastic shield after gentle twisting in will ensure a tight fit, then secure with high thermal tape and your good to go until you need to remove it for cleaning. This is particularly useful if you are attaching to a vertical connector in a ceiling or right angle bend so it doesn't keep falling on your head like the cheap ones do no matter how tightly I used to screw those clamps on to hold it, this works MUCH better!

Overall much easier, and the ends can be reused several times with the less expensive normal rigid duct-work which I find easier to just replace the duct than try to clean or vacuum. The price listed is cheaper than what I originally paid for the first one I bough a few years ago for the same product at the local home store.

I had no issues threading the vent. Need to make sure put your hand inside the plastic as the instructions show and guide the wire end into the threads then make sure you are turning it the correct direction and it will thread just fine. It was a bit of a pain to do but did work once I figured the thing out. The end fit just fine on the dryer however wasn't really big enough to fit the connector in the wall so still had to tape it. Our issue was the dryer needed to be to the right of the opening into the wall which also happens to be just above the floor behind the washer. This worked but has a tight bend.

Great product once you figure it out -- the directions instruct you to twist the ends on clockwise, but the arrows on the plastic ends indicate counterclockwise. Counterclockwise is correct!! Follow the arrow and your common sense and ignore the instructions and you'll get a nice snug fit.

I had a little trouble as the hose needed to be shortened to about 3 feet to fit my layout. The end of the hose that connects to the outside vent was too small and had to be altered. However for for a first time installer of a vent hose, I ended with a very neat job, no kinks, and I think the dryer drys faster having reduced the length for about 5 feet to 3. I was working in a tight place, as my explanation indicates, it took me a while and some sighs, but all is well that ends well.

My outside vent is directly across from my dryer vent but it is at a slight upward angle coming out of wall. This is quite a problem when trying to use the Deflecto HUPK8WA/4. But I really liked the cuffed ends and they did go on fairly easy since I used some advice from other reviewers. For sure put the ends on while the pipe is compressed and follow the arrows on the cuffs for twisting direction.

The amount of pipe I needed was only about 5 inches from wall to dryer, so I cut the pipe to fit but allowed some wiggle room just in case. Since I only needed such a short length I then cut the extended flaps off the cuffs with heavy duty scissors. The remaining part of the cuff has raised seems to grip so that was good enough for my situation. Now if your outside pipe is recessed back far into a wall you will want those extended flaps to maneuver the pipe.

I did need the little bit extra piping that I saved for wiggle room because the wall vent being at a slight angle caused me to have to arch the pipe some while attaching to the dryer outlet. Finally got it! I still may apply some foil tape to the wall outlet end so that is will never pull away from the wall. So when I pull out the dryer to clean hopefully the dryer vent end will just fall off as it is a little big. I'm also going to put a little fireplace type insulation around the loose fitting at the dryer outlet to keep any exhaust from escaping.

All in all I love the Deflecto Easy...I have a much more convenient way to clean and a much better exhaust then my previous vent. I imagine most people will need to be a little creative to apply the Deflecto in their own situation. But once you finally think it thru you will be happy.
