Lyres stink for flute but out of all of them the wrist one is the best followed by the wire lyre that goes under the arm. The wooden lyre that goes under the arm slips out too easily. A metal lyre to attatch to your flute usually the music is to heavy and it falls off anyway. The wrist lyre works great. You can swivel it around also from front to back to use boths sides of the pages for your music.

So my daughter tells me at the last minute she needs a Lyre for high school band. Instead of trekking our in the 107 heat I decided to go to trusty Amazon. The price was good and it showed up very quick. As far as the product itself, I was worried when it showed up because it seemed like it would be too large for her tiny arm. However, it works perfectly! The strap is adjustable and will work for anyone. Not sure what the local music store charges for this but it couldn't be any better then the $11.99 Amazon charged. There is already a very detailed review about different types of Lyres but I just wanted to add my 2 cents and agree with that review. If your kid needs one of these for marching band, this is the way to go.

The photo shows a wide strap. One I got is elastic string. My kid is ok with it, but let the buyer be aware.

Bought this for my son who plays Piccolo in the Marching band. He is very thin and this adjusted down easily for when he was practicing and then back up for when he was in uniform in the stands. The adjustable pivot/swing on the music pages works great to get that perfect angle. It is lightweight enough to not weigh his arm down during really long games or practices. Not sure how it will hold up with the elastic (which is why I only gave it a 4 star rating as that part seemed a little cheap to me) but for the cost I can afford to purchase another only in a year or 2 if necessary.

Definitely the best lyre for flute and piccolo players. It's a bit awkward, as the music cannot be held directly in front of the player's face as with other instruments. However, it does swivel, and it can be placed anywhere along the arm, making it somewhat adjustable.

Got this for my 12 year old. Her band director recommended this specific one. She said it works best for smaller arms. My daughter found it easy to use, it fit her well, and stayed in place.

The lyre showed up quickly and was easy to use. It worked perfectly for my son's performance. Thank you for making this available at such a reasonable price too.

Strong and build to last. My daughter's band teacher ran over it with a golf cart and it didn't break

This was purchased for my daughter when she entered 9th grade & switched from concert band to marching band. She easily put all her music sheets into it in very little time. She says it's easy to wear, but did need to adjust to having it on. This adjustment was accomplished during the 1st 3-hour practice. She loves it and was pleased when her marching band instructor told her she'd really gotten a good lyre.
