These are a bit stiff, but they are MUCH better than having dents in your bow. I myself am a guitarist and a trumpet player, but my girlfriend is a trombonist, and I bought 3 of these - one for each of her horns. I don't know what the other review is about...I tried it on a student horn, a 1908 Holton Special, and a Bach horn...it fit all of them perfectly. It looks rubberized, but it isn't. It may be an inexpensive product, but it still does what it is supposed to, especially for $3.

As the picture shows, it fits on the end of the slide to allow the player to gently rest the horn on the floor without fear of damaging the end of the outer slide.

FIT: On our smaller tenor trombone slide, it fit loosely but snapped into place on the slide button. On our larger F attachment horn, it had to be bent out slightly as it was a tad undersized. But once we got it in place, it fit tightly and I felt more comfortable with it on the F attachment horn than I did on the smaller horn.

Price: Considering the fact that the outer slide assembly is the most expexsive to replace and repair, the few dollars you spend on this is probably one of the most economical and smartest investments you could make for your trombone.

My daughter LOVES being able to rest her nice horn on the floor without fear of damaging it. I am putting one on each of our horns.

It's very good. It makes the trombone slide feel much heavier though. The added protection is 1st. class. A good product

I was hoping it would be alittle more flexible... but it does accomplish its function to protect the slide tip.

I originally bought this protector for my main bass horn, but it was too small. I did find use for it on my tenor horn, however! For the price, this is a great deal if it fits your horn. It is constructed of cheap plastic, but it gets the job done and protects the slide bow well.

I bought this for my son because his bow is covered in dents from putting it on the floor. However, he plays an F trombone (the more advanced instrument with a trigger) and it doesn't fit. It's too small. Very disappointing because it would cost more to return than we paid so we're stuck with it.

We still had his basic student trombone and it fit on there. It's made from a hard plastic and seems like it would definitely protect the bow. I just wish I could find one that would fit his current instrument. Be sure when you buy it that you have the type of trombone that it will fit.

Sturdy and strong - helps protect end of slide from inevitable bumps of student beginners. Protector only fits the standard profile of beginner, student-level instruments of the major manufacturers, however. For example, it fits an Olds Ambassador, a King 606, and a Martin tenor (all 0.500"-ish bore size), but it won't fit a Getzen 0.525" bore tenor.

Protects the slide but adversely affects the sound.
