Same as previous reviewer. Bought same model 10 years ago and loved it! It lasted a decade with no issues This heater however after about two months of service emitted a shower of sparks and plume of foul smoke, nearly causing an electrical fire. Thank God I was in the room when it happened. I pulled the plug before the flames began in earnest. It is "dead" now. Will not power on etc. I spent over $70.00 only to have my house nearly consumed in a fire. The company that made it (Del Rain Heaters) is Kaput, so no warranty. And wouldn't you just know it? The incident happened two weeks after the Amazon A-Z guarantee filing period expired. Here's what the seller @ HeatersUsa told me (Complete with typos):

"Not sure how you were using it, but definatly make sure it's not in a moist area or around water. As for all usage details please referr to manual. As for warranty information please contact the manufacature."

Uh Yeah. Right. That's the ticket... I always use my space heaters around puddles and full bathtubs: doesn't everybody?? Yes. The manual will help me fix the fire damage in the unit. What could I have been thinking?! Thanks HeatersUsa!!!! Any tips on hang-gliding in electrical storms? You guys are a wellspring of practical information!!!

Anyhow, that's how the cookie crumbles. DO NOT BUY THIS HEATER, and beware of HeatersUSA: they sell NOS items from defunct companies that CANNOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES. Buyer Beware.

Don't waste your money. The DelRain company is out of business and hence offers no real 2 yr warranty and no phone # to call this company. I purchased this heater because I received one about 8 yrs ago from a client who moved south. I thought it was amazing and had some real intelligent features such as automatically lowering the fan to a whisper when the temperature was arrived at using the digital buttons. The "new" one looked the same. The back plate filter cover latch snapped off the 2nd time I used it! Company that sold it offered to try and find another one or send the heater back at my expense. The beep sounds on the digital control settings sounded like a dying cat and the heater continues to blast heat [not the like the older model mentioned]. Very disappointing what can happen when companies lose site of what worked, make changes[to cut corners no doubt] and farm out new productions to lord knows where. I am only guessing as the product functioned differently, while looking the same. Story of our times. This is why I ususally buy local from store and pay close attention to RETURN policy and details of warranty. I could have returned this unit [at my expense] and HOPED for new and better one. But why bother. I was told by the selling company that they bought out the inventory that was left from the company when they went belly up. Price was main selling factor. 4 Yrs ago, they were $100 best price. This one was $65. Be forewarned.
