The only wire wheel for your Delta bench grinder
The Delta 8" grinder shaft is partially threaded. You can not install aftermarket (third-party) brand wire wheels on the grinder because the hubs are not thick enough to allow you to secure the wheel with the retaining nut. The Delta brand wire wheel has a specially made hub that makes it 1" thick, like the grinding wheels, allowing the wire wheel to be properly secured...

Wire wheel
Not ballanced at all...causes my bench grinder to vibrate so badly, I had to remove it...not worth the effort.

The Delta 8" grinder shaft is partially threaded. You can not install aftermarket (third-party) brand wire wheels on the grinder because the hubs are not thick enough to allow you to secure the wheel with the retaining nut. The Delta brand wire wheel has a specially made hub that makes it 1" thick, like the grinding wheels, allowing the wire wheel to be properly secured on the shaft. Further, the hub on the Delta wire wheel allows the wire wheel to be centered within the protective guard on the grinder, preventing it from ripping itself apart on the inner sides of the protective cover.

Made the bench grinder walk off the bench at first but seems to be settling down after a bit of use.Very good at cleaning rust of anything as well as removing skin from thumbs! |
