Outstanding value,
By A Customer
This review is from: DELTA 36-650 10-Inch Professional Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
This saw is an outstanding value. It is extremely heavy and solid so that cuts are true with virtually no vibration on the cast iron top, although some vibration is transmitted through the steel extensions. The trickiest part to set up is truing up the blade guard/splitter so that it is in line with the blade, but once that is done (hopefully not to many bruised knuckles), you should not have to worry about it again. The fence is solid and heavy duty and comes parallel to the blade right out of the box, although it will flex very slightly at the furthermost point from lock down, behind the blade. (You may be able to adjust this out, but I haven't figured out how, although you never put pressure at this point on the fence anyway.) I would suggest pitching the blade which comes with it and upgrade to the best quality blade you can afford. I am an advanced home hobbyist and this saw is perfect for my needs.

Excellent Machine, some minor annoyances,
This review is from: DELTA 36-650 10-Inch Professional Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I can't say enough good things about this machine. The fence, the miter gauge, the relatively quiet operation, lack of vibration... That said, there are some minor annoyances: The instructions could have been much clearer. The rip guard is a pain, constantly in the way unless you completely remove it, or else flopping down when in the middle of setup. Irritating! Why not make it to be swung back and completely out of the way when unneeded? Also, why not supply a canvas dust-collecting bag that hangs beneath the saw? As it is, I bought one from Leichtung Workshops. Also, shelling out the money for a saw and not getting a dado table insert is infuriating. For that kind of money, this thing should be ready to go, right out of the box! On the other hand, the carbide blade that came with this saw is greatly appreciated. (Still, given the choice, I would have chose a dado insert!)The fence is a pleasant surprise. With some minor screw adjustments, it's dead on the mark. Ditto for the miter gauge: No lateral slop; solid as a rock and smooth. After reading the reviews that talked about the toe of the fence wanting to walk, I set the fence and then tried to move the toe of the fence. It seems like it takes an awful lot of pressure to get it to do that. For a simple rip operation, that kind of pressure on the fence seems unreasonable. If it ends up being an issue, I'll probably just clamp a stopblock in place to keep the toe from moving. No biggie. All in all, I love this machine. The thing I appreciate most is its accuracy. The thing I hate the most is having to shell out more money for something as basic as a dado insert...

I've had this saw for about 3 months now and am very pleased with it's performance and value. It is more than capable for a serious hobbyist. I would have given it 5 stars but the splitter/guard is such junk that I went into the trash soon after I assembled the saw.

Great Saw, fence flex,

This review is from: DELTA 36-650 10-Inch Professional Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
This saw has proven to be wonderful so far. It was relatively easy to assemble with pictures augmenting the assembly manual. Some of the steps weren't as clear as they should have been, such as missing the mention of when to use a washer. An exploded view would better show how some of the pieces are to fit together. I was impressed with how the motor attached, using pins, that made it a lot easier to hold in one hand while trying to attach it to the base. I agree with previous reviewer about the far end of the fence deflecting slightly under pressure. It seems as if this may be remedied by spacing the opposite flange out with a washer. The fence is still smooth and accurate though. This saw is very quiet compared to the direct drive models.

Super saw,

I like this saw. It has plenty of power, is quieter than comparable table saws and the fence is a dream. Assembly is easy peasy with 90% of the alignments already done. The only annoyance is the blade guard which desperately needs reengineering. The guard alignment problem and the fact that I do a lot of dado work has resulted in the guard being more or less permanently removed.

I have been using this saw for about 4 months. This machine has been a treat to use. Assembly was a breeze and took about 1 1/2 hours. I was pleasantly suprised with the fence. It was dead on out of the box, no need to upgrade here. Get rid of the blade that comes with the saw and by a premium blade as soon as you can. The guard is junk, ... and poorly designed. With a better guard I would have given a 5 star rating. All in all this is one of the best saws on the market in this price range.

I have only owned this saw for about 1 week.i was happy with the performance of the saw, good amount of power, easy to assemble. After a week of useing it the fence bracket (the part that clamps to the rail) cracked.unhappy i called delta to see if i could buy a better fence (uni fence or biesemeyer) they told me they could not do that and the only way i could get the broken part is wait and they were not sure how long it was going to take, because it is backordered from china!if i could do it all over agian i would save more money and buy a better model.

Got caught by a bargain,

This was a lot of saw for the money so I dove in. Had it a month, used it twice, the fence broke where it clamps to the rail. Bought a 50 inch fence that doesn't shift an eighth to the right when set. Running with dado blades, saw stopped. Wasn't motor. The arbor seized up. Could spin it backwards but not forwards. It tightened like a screw. Maybe there's something I don't know but it seems that that is one thing a table saw should never ever ever do. Unimpressed and worried what's next. Should have spent the extra for the 2hp General.

Good Saw-Terrible Fence,
By A Customer
This review is from: DELTA 36-650 10-Inch Professional Table Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this saw because it looked like a good saw for my money. Assembly was a breeze as well as alignment. Saw cut extremely smooth until one day the locking handle broke on the fence. Apparently it is made of a very poor quality Chinese cast metal. Upon calling for a warranty replacement I was informed that it would be at least six weeks before I could get a new one. That is not what a professional woodworker likes to hear.
