THIS WAS A SIMPLE OPERATION! This delta planer was my first experience with a planer and I was the second owner ...I thought fighting the wood across the knives was just a part of it so I fought on ...until some of the very expensive wood started checking ...so I took the dreaded knife change plunge ....it could not have been simpler ...instructions were clear in my manuel and even clearer were the "how to instructions" on the back of the package that the blades came in ...and cut they do ...now little effort is needed to plane ....no kicking back and a smooth glass like surface ....I run a lot of wood across these knives both hard exoctic and soft woods and the knives are still holding their edge very well ...if for no other reason do it for safety!
