If you have a Delta single-stage vertical bag dust collector (such as the excellent 1-1/2 hp. model # 50-760) that comes with a 5" to 4" x 4" plastic Y connector (for simultaneously attaching two 4" flexible input dust collection hoses to the impeller/motor), but you want to connect only a single 4" flexible input hose directly to the impeller/motor (without using the Y), then this is the best adapter to use in place of the Y.

I have searched far and wide (including Woodcraft, Rockler and other woodworking sites that sell the dust collectors) and have not found an adapter exactly like this. It works very well.

The adapter is straight (not an elbow) and slides over the impeller/motor's 5" inlet housing and attaches to it with a supplied 5" worm gear clamp. Its other end connects to the inside of a standard 4" diameter flexible hose (no clamp supplied, but readily available at home building suppliers like Home Depot, Lowe's or Amazon). It is made of sheet metal that is thicker & stronger than the typical HVAC ducting found at home building suppliers.

This adapter is ideal also for converting a single-stage dust collector of this type to a two-stage collector by inserting a 30 gallon rubbish can (or equivalent) between the dust suction hose and the impeller/motor housing.
