The DELTA 50-850 1.5 HP 1200 CFM Vertical Bag Dust Collector features a volume-saving vertical design that doesn't compromise the power of its completely encased 1.5 HP motor, which moves up to 1,200 cubic feet of air per minute by employing curved steel impellers for durability and maximum air velocity. The vertical dust collector sits on a sturdy steel base, and four glide wheels that can move anywhere in your shop without damage. The durable plastic collection bag can be mounted on one of two rings. The upper bag can filter out pollutants 30 micron in size--contaminants that your eyes can't see but your lungs will thank you for. In addition, you can upgrade your machine to five- or one-micron filter bags. The 6-cubic-foot collection bag is a 6-mil durable plastic that allows you to see when the bag needs changing. Exhaust is filtered through the filter bag rather than the collection bag to prevent air from escaping. The dust collector includes four swivel caster assemblies, a cord, a plug, and an instruction manual.

I've had one of these for about a year now. It works well, although you do want to wear hearing protection around it. Delta was shipping 30 micron bags with it when I bought it and I immediately sold those and bought 5 micron bags. (Delta should be ashamed to give you 30 micron bags with this thing. If they are giving buyers 5 micron bags now, I raise my rating to 5 stars.)

Also, while it may kind of work on a 120 v/15 amp circuit, you are much better off wiring it as 220 v. No more circuit breaker popping then.

My wife gave me a 50-850 for Christmas. I love it. The fit and finish are excellent. I find it to be surprisingly quiet, though you still need hearing protection for prolonged exposure.

My product manual indicates that a 20 amp, 115 volt circuit is required. Perhaps this explains the previous reviewers breaker trips when using a 15 amp service.

The castors are sized appropriately so the collector rolls well. My only complaint is over the lack of a place to easily grab the collector when moving it around the shop. The temptation to use the power cord like a dog leash is strong. This is a minor gripe, however.

Your eyes and lungs will thank you for getting one of these.

This year, Santa (bless her heart) brought me the above dust collector. Once I got it going in my shop, I really liked it. Quiet, powerful, and did an excellent job for two days before the motor burned-up. No problem, I took the motor assembly back to the place of purchase, and it was replaced.....no questions asked. The only complaints I have about this system pertains to the dust bags. Going to five micron bags on the part of the manufacturer should not be an after thought, and second; who's idea was it to leave one dollar's worth elastic banding out of the bottom bag anyway? This leaves me to assume that the unit is probably built in Taiwan by personnel that have never used one in a shop. If it is built in the good old USA, then that Design Engineer, Mr Tightwad, should be soundly spanked!
