Delta 50-850A Dust Collector, The Best,
By
This review is from: DELTA 50-850A 1-1/2 Horsepower 1,200 CFM Canister Dust Collector, 120/240-Volt (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have had shop vaccuum's and other dust collectors gathering saw dust from my shop tool's and this is the best one yet! I use this primarily on my 5 hp. table saw and what a difference. I get very little to no dust coming from the saw. I'm working on getting a dust collector arm that goes over the blade and that will get all of the dust. I'm very happy with the quality of the product and would suggest it to any small to med. work shop. the canister works great, and you can see when to dump the bag. Just don't through the clear bag away, they are not cheap. The noise is less than the other tools that I am using at the time, and if you have other tools by delta, this will match nicely.

I have owned this dust collector for almost 5 years. I am an avid woodworker / do-it-yourselfer. I occasionally do commission work for others. I have a good sized basement shop with professionall quality tools. I generally like this dust collector. It is efficient, reliable and powerful. Like most Delta machinery it is an excellant value (Meaning you can get better systems, but you'll pay quite a bit more). I have only a few complaints, which are common to most dust collectors in this price range: 1) the bags are too expensive to be disposable. I usually empty the bag into a trash bag and reuse it a few times (this can be messy). 2) The cord is routed out of the bottom of the switch box. This puts the cord in the way of the wheels as you move the unit around the shop, and the wheels are too small to roll over the cord. Cord should come out the top, or it could be retractable so that you could move the machine without always getting hung up on the cord. 3) It's really loud (they all are in this price range). I have looked at quiter models, but again... they are 2-3 times the price. 4) No remote control. Overall, this is a great step up from no dust collection or shop vac systems. After several years of use though, I am feeling ready to get something with HEPA filtration, higher CFM, and lower noise levels. Overall though this is a good unit and a great value. I think it is the best of the units offered in this class of dust collectors. Check this unit out, if you want to entertain a nicer choice JDS Company 14059 Cyclone 2100-CK, 2 Horsepower, 1700 CFM, Cyclone Dust Collector, 220-Volt 1 Phase
