Like most others, I have spent a lot of time reading as many reviews about the different fences that are available and was having a tuff time deciding. I was torn between the Vega pro 50 and the Biesemeyer comercial 30 in. I guess what convinced me was the outright mass of the rails compared to the vega. I just wasnt convinced that the vegas rails were able to support an extension table as well as the Biesemeyer. After ordering and receiving the system, I jumped into installing it as soon as possible. Having an older Sears Contractors saw and trying to make the universal rail guides match was a bit difficult as the bolt holes didnt want to line up. So, I ended up moving the rail to the right and ended up with 39 inches of compacity. Not too bad since the system came with table extension legs. The real difficulty came when attaching the rear rail support. I had to put some really large notches in the rail to allow the blade to tilt to a full 45 degrees. Now, with the fence installed, I have to say that I am very glad that I went with the comercial fence. I couldnt be happier with it. The difference is remarkable over the oem fence. This fence does cost more but it is worth the difference if price for the quality that you get. I cannot knock the Vega since I didnt purchase it, but if you are leaning towards that Beisemeyer you wont be sorry.

Although a huge fan of Delta for over 35 years, I was disappointed with the Biesemeyer fence. I had tolerated the original fence with my unisaw for 30 years. Finally I broke down and bought one of these that everybody raves about. Problem was, to begin with, the front rail holes did not line up. Because of the difficulty sending something like this back, I had my machinist slot the holes so they would line up. Once I got that worked out and adjusted for square, it in fact worked well. That is until about six weeks later when I need to attach a vertical jig to the fence. Come to find out the fence was out of plumb about 1/32 inch top to bottom, causing a major problem for a vertical jig 12 inches tall. To further complicate things there is no adjustment for plumb on the fence.

I tried calling customer service, which turned into a exercise in futility going back and forth from one to another.

Do I still like Delta? Yes. But their engineering for this particular item, made from hot rolled angle, is severely lacking. Under close examination, hot rolled flash on the raw material was not completely removed and just painted over. Just another case of someone in production asleep at the wheel. I ended up having our machine shop repair it rather than hassel with Biesemeyer. Honestly I expected better from a company from whom I have personally purchased over 20 stationary tools. I suppose it is no worse than anyone else though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant product, June 27, 2007
This review is from: DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence (Tools & Home Improvement)
The fence was quick and easy to install using the clear and effective instructions. Threaded holes in the the guide tube for mounting it on the front rail were accurately aligned with the holes in the rail but needed cleaning out with a tap, but that took only a few minutes. It's easy to use and precise.

Purchased Delta BC30 30-Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence

Had a Older Delta contractor saw, Model 34-444 which had a Original Fence which was good for general work but not consistant in making Square or true cuts. I needed a fence that would allow both of these.

I received the product in 5(Std Shipping) days and well it was installed in about 30 minutes. Took more time to make the NEW 36" table extension.

First cuts after Fence aligned and Trued up to the blade were Perfect.

Very happy with the Fence and ease of installation..

5.0 out of 5 stars great item. must have for any cabinet makers saw., September 21, 2007
This review is from: DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence (Tools & Home Improvement)
great product. got it much cheaper from somehwere else. for some reason amazon stocks the bc50 which has at least a third more steel in it for something like $200 less. (edit I just looked again and amazon now has it for a more reasonable and competitive price).

This fence attached to my saw flawlessly (I have delta unisaw), and i was ready to go in no time. Nicer than the fence that is on our powermatic model 66 (better finish and fit all around). the powermatic has some newfangled plastic on the sides which is buckled and bowed where the bolts attach (same on every saw I have seen with it). that makes it hard to get accurate cuts. the plywood sided pieces on the delta BC30 are the next best thing to a nice piece of 1/2" aluminum.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good fit, September 9, 2009
This review is from: DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have a 30 yr old Unisaw (Rockwell back then) and I had a hard time finding out how well this fence would fit and whether I would need to build an extension table for the 30" model and if the extension legs were included. It was just hard to find out about the 30" version but there was lots of info on the 50" version.

To my relief the fence and rails fit like a glove with no drilling or tapping and adjusted with very little difficulty. The kit includes the extension table legs but as far as I can tell they are not needed and building an extension table is not really needed. If I set it for the maximum 31" rip cut, there is a 13" gap between my cast iron extension table and the fence but I don't see any problem with that. It wouldn't hinder cutting 4x8 sheet goods.

It's a nice fence, much better than the original one I have put up with for so long. Truly a KISS design.

Amazon needs to include a picture so it would be easier to see what is in the package. However the free shipping was great. This is heavy and long enough to need to be shipped by freight so that was quite a savings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great service, May 26, 2009
This review is from: DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have had my Biesemeyer fence for 5 years now and love it - would buy it again in a heart beat. I can't add any more about the fence than what has been written but wanted to say that the service from Biesemeyer/Delta/Porter Cable/Dewalt is really great. I had to disassemble and reassemble my Delta Unisaw a couple of weeks ago and had misplaced the template used to align the front rail. I called Biesemeyer about getting another one. The operator took my name and address and told me that they would send one out. I was waiting to get the bill but I got the part the next week by UPS - no charge! I am not sure who handled the request - called Biesemeyer, order handled by Porter Cable and sent by Dewalt great integration

5.0 out of 5 stars The only fence to buy, September 26, 2007
This review is from: DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence (Tools & Home Improvement)
I had another well respected brand fence sitting in the box waiting until I had a workshop large enough to accommodate the longer than stock rails. When I took it out to install it on the saw, a 1940's Delta Unisaw, I just couldn't having previously used the Biesemeyer in a friends shop. So, I went and ordered the Biesemeyer. The installation was much simpler that the other fence. It did take a little tweaking to align the fence, table and blade, not too bad though. However, now every cut is perfect just by using ruler on the guide. I even tested it 2", 12", 24" from the blade....perfect every time. Plus the Biesemeyer is built like a tank and the quality of everything is first rate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hitachi 10CFL, September 19, 2010
This review is from: DELTA BC30 30 Inch Commercial Biesemeyer Table Saw Fence (Tools & Home Improvement)
I had been looking to purchase another saw until a friend checked out my saw and said the fence is the problem, not the saw. Then I saw the review where someone installed it on my brand saw. I was skeptical at first but when I saqw that I decided to order it. I apprecaite reviews like that and especially when someone has installed it on my same product. Whoever did the Hitachi review, thank you. You saved me a lot of money.
