These muzzles are great for restricting the amount they can eat in pasture.

I have a horse that was diagnosed with laminitis last year and then found out he was insulin resistant. Had to keep him off the grass which made him miserable since that was all the life he knew, he had never been kept in a stall. Found this muzzle and now he can be in the field with his buddy. Can I say he loves it? Probably not but he comes up to me so I can put it on so he can go out. It took him a while to figure out out how to eat with it on, but they are resourceful creatures.

This is the only brand grazing muzzle I will buy. It lasts far longer than the cheaper ones.

Our pony founders on an annual basis so he always had to be stalled while the others got to graze. With this he can be out with his herd and it keeps him from gaining to much weight as well..

The Velcro emergency release works well (he got it stuck on our gate once) but it doesn't fall off easy which is good. The buckles are sturdy and metal. Our last one used plastic and that lasted 2 months.

My only negative is I found a better one with wider openings at the nostrils but it doesn't come in pony size. I wish this one was made to fit the nose better and not just a bucket on a halter. It is padded and he never has rub marks.

I had purchased a grazing muzzle w/halter for our little pony that is prone to foundering. It worked for a few weeks, but then he learned how to rub it off. I tried this muzzle that attaches to his own halter that fits him better and tighter than the grazing muzzle w/halter that tightened with velcro. So far he's only gotten it off once, all I need to do is tighten his halter again! This muzzle gives him the freedom to graze with his three pasture mates instead of being cooped up alone in the dry lot.

I bought deluxe Best Friends grazing muzzles from a local store. After a month the hole at the end of the basket began to tear, and now it looks like a comma, not a period, and grows ever bigger.

I did hear back from the company's president who offered to swap out my almost brand new muzzle for a new one, free of charge. As for the ever-widening opening in the basket of the muzzle, which allows the horse to eat more and more grass, it was explained to me by several people that it may just be the way my horse tears away at the grass. I am still disappointed that the muzzle hole didn't stay intact for more than 6 weeks, but perhaps it is one of those things where depending on the horse, muzzles don't last more than a few months.

I have Pasos and they being from the Spanish line of horses are VERY easy keepers and put on weight easily. The muzzle allows them to be with the herd and not have restrictions they would have otherwise being kept up to keep them from having too much grass. Great product. Rubber doesnt smell like the cheap ones do.

These are heavy-duty grazing muzzles, well-constructed and tough. Two of our horses are easy keepers and tend to founder if they eat too much. These muzzles are great for restricting the amount they can eat in pasture. They're also pretty easy to put on and take off, although if your horse is skittish you may need to throw a rope around its neck to keep it steady.

We had a foundering mini and this muzzle did the job overall. She is doing much better thanks to the now controlled diet. But after only one week, the velcro from one strap had seperated from the nylon strap. It still held since there were three other straps holding the muzzle. Now two have seperated rendering the muzzle pretty much useless.

For me, this muzzle lasted about 1 month on a mini. I would pay $30 to save my mini's life any day. I just expected this to last longer.
