No artificial sweeteners, lowest calorie whey powder, great results,
This review is from: DESIGNER WHEY The Biggest Loser Protein Powder Supplement, Vanilla Bean, 10-Ounce Canister (Health and Beauty)
As a weight loss coach I'm always on the lookout for products that can have a positive effect. I'll be honest. I snickered at the plug for this on the Biggest Loser and said it's obviously just regular whey powder rebranded with their name to sell. (I tend to snicker at many things promoted heavily on tv...this is normal for me.)Okay, I'll own that I was wrong...I never even LOOKED at this product for months but someone in one of my weight loss groups mentioned it so I did. First, it has less than half the calories for the same serving as most whey powders. Maybe all whey powders. I spend a LONG time in stores comparing stats and this beat out the lowest ones I used to use by FAR in it's nutritionals. Second it uses Stevia or Agave as a sweetener depending upon the flavor. it does NOT use sucralose. Stevia and agave are natural and is waaaaay sweeter than sugar so you only need a tiny bit of it in comparison to sugar. (This and Agave are the only low calorie sweeteners that health and all natural markets sell) I refuse to use artificial sweeteners now because I've read too much about them but I never leave the house without my stevia packets. Third...it just works. I've used whey powder for years to help with my fitness and weight loss plan. It not only keeps you full, but it helps muscles after a workout. Plus fiber has been shown to assist weight loss which is why it's a huge part of the Weight Watchers plan...and so many other things I could make this review very long by adding. It's just uber good stuff. I personally like to make a smoothie with this powder and add in some fruit. I love the taste of this smoothie. I also just found out they have blueberry flavor and I'm psyched...I've never seen that in a whey powder. The vanilla is great because it gives you a plain base to either utilize on it's own or with other flavorings or fruit. After a mega workout I'll even add a bit of prepared oatmeal and a few teaspoons of all natural peanut butter for a mega filling mega protein boost...but that adds more calories obviously. Also, it's hard for some of the people I work with in losing weight to get their water servings in each day. I suggest adding a little but of the whey protein to the water for both flavor, vitamins, protein etc. It's a win/win all around. I do this as well. Cheaper and healthier than the flavored packets for water and this contains no artificial sweeteners and is packed with goodies for your body so it's a better alternative to flavoring your water or milk if those servings are hard for you to do. This helps me in between meals in a HEALTHY way that assists my weight goals rather than sidetracking them...

I've used this powder for a couple months now and have only positive things to say about it. First off, I am extremely picky. I wanted a protein powder with no artificial sweeteners. This is one of the few on the market that uses stevia instead of sucralose, etc. The stevia does add sweeteness but has a far lesser impact on blood sugar levels than does actual sugar. (Just a note: ONLY the chocolate and vanilla use stevia. The blueberry and raspberry, DO use sucralose!) Another thing I like about this powder is that it contains prebiotic FIBER. Good luck finding another protein powder that contains fiber! I have incorporated a lot more fiber into my diet and it has helped me to lose 20 lbs. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. The fiber will help you feel full and is good for you. Last but not least - it mixes well and tastes great. I'm a chocolate-lover and this hits the spot. I wouldn't say it's extremely sweet (nor should it be) but it definitely tastes good. I like to use make a frozen shake with a cup of water, a cup of ice, half a frozen banana, and 2 scoops of this powder. I put it in my blender (Magic Bullet) and voila! In my opinion, this chocolate powder is the best of all of them and I've tried the other 3 flavors. I hope this review helps. I'm here to buy more!

I just tried this mix this week and it's a great product if you're looking for something low in calories to help curb your appetite and give you energy. If you're sensitive to artificial sweeteners and/or flavorings, you might not like the taste. Otherwise, I found the taste very smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. I blended the powder with some light soymilk and strawberries and it was very tasty and filling. When I tried it with just water, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best either. Maybe if you add ice and blend it, you'll get a better texture. So far, I've just had it for breakfast in the mornings before work, so I can't say whether or not you'll experience better performance during a workout. I can say that the mix of vitamins do make me feel refreshed in the morning. I take a multi-vitamin every morning anyway, but I felt a bit of a boost after drinking the protein shake. I haven't tried many other health shakes, but if you're trying to lose weight (versus build mass), this is probably a good option (and if you're on Weight Watchers like me, you'll appreciate how one scoop is zero points, thanks to the added fiber). I look forward to trying the other flavors soon.

This review is from: DESIGNER WHEY The Biggest Loser Protein 2GO Pak, Red Raspberry, 8-Count (Pack of 6) (Health and Beauty)
I recieved a free sample of the protein 2go from Designer Whey and being the supplement junky that I am I decided to give it a try.Pro's.. The protein 2go is very portable. One can stick the packet in their bag or purse and not have to worry about it spilling every where. This protein powder mixes instantly with water and that makes it very convenient when you are on the go.. Taste wise, I thought it tasted pretty good for a protein powder. Some but not all commercial protein powders are chalky when mixed just with water but this tasted more like one of the flavored waters once everything was mixed up.. Con's.. The protein 2go only has 6 grams of protein. I'm sorry but that is hardly enough protein to use as fuel during your workout and certainly not enough protein to refuel your body after a workout and at 40 calories a serving this is not a meal replacement.. The cost is outrageous.. $10.95 for 8 little packages is highway robbery. One would be better off spending 30.00 on a huge tub of protein powder and get around 70 servings and about 24 grams of protein per serving. It may not come in a convenient little package but a snack size zip lock bag works just as well. Overall I give this product a thumbs down.. it's just a marketing ploy to sell the Biggest Loser name.. there are better products out there that will give you more bang for your buck.

I think this is great stuff. I also have the individual packs for bottled water. I've lost 15 pounds over the past couple of months and I know it's not fast and not a lot, but it's coming off!! :)

Designer Whey The Biggest Loser Protein - Vanilla Bean 10oz, 10oz CanisterI switched over from soy protein shakes to whey protein shakes some time ago. The problem is that most of them use artificial sweeteners that I am sensitive to. This all natural Vanilla Bean shake uses stevia, a natural product. The taste is a nice vanilla and is neutral flavored enough to support adding fresh or frozen fruits for a very tasty smoothie. I usually have it plain (mixed with water) as a supplement to a light meal or as a snack. I would highly recommend it.

Waste of Money,

This review is from: DESIGNER WHEY The Biggest Loser Protein Powder Supplement, Blue Blueberry, 10-Ounce Canister (Health and Beauty)
I really wanted to like this product. I was enticed to purchase it because I saw it on The Biggest Loser show, and it has Ali Vincent on the package. However, it was a real waste of money. Here is why I was disappointed: (1) There are many additives that I would not consume for health purposes. This includes, among others, artificial berry flavoring, sucralose, red #40 and blue #2. This is clearly not a health drink. (2) When added to a smoothie, this powder creates a sickly artificial sweetness. You might like it if you are used to a lot of artificial sweet processed flavoring. I did not care for it. (3) Also, you should know the canister is only about half full. Read the fine print -- it contains only 10 ounces of product. I poured the contents out of the canister to weigh it, and it did indeed contain 10 ounces of powder. However, the larger packaging makes it seem like you are getting a lot more product. Sorry to say mine is going in the trash. Glad I bought it on discount from Amazon instead of full price retail. I love The Biggest Loser show, but this product does not embody the wisdom or soul of Bob and Jillian. Rather, it appears to be the producers' attempt to gain $$ from licensing The Biggest Loser name to a supplement company with a lousy product.

This stuff tastes awful to me. If anyone has any ideas on how to make it worth drinking let me know. Right now I wish I hadn't bought it or maybe if they have one that isn't flavored that would be better.

Not enough protein,

I thought that this was a protein drink. There is only 6g of protein and not much else in the way of vitimins and nutrients. I would definitely skip this product, there are many better products on the market. A simple cheese stick is about as good.

I mixed mine in water when I first got it, it was so disgusting, I choked on it! So the next day I used organic skim milk and used only 5 oz of milk, this made it taste better, not great but better and it had a stronger chocolate flavor to it w/ less than 8oz of milk. The way they recommend mixing it on the can is awful tasting!
