Great protein, dissolves well, but sucralose gives a fake sweetness,

Designer Whey is my protein mix of choice, so when my usual DESIGNER WHEY French Vanilla was out of stock, I thought I'd try this one. I've had good luck with building lean mass using whey.Sadly, this version (unlike my usual) has sucralose, aka Splenda. (it wasn't mentioned in the amazon listing at the time). While that's better than Aspartame (aka Nutrasweet), I normally avoid all artificial sweeteners when I'm looking to enhance my health. Also, in this case it tastes kind of bad too; since the mix has some cream as well, the overall flavor is a bit like a watery strawberry Quik (ie, flavored children's milk product). Not my usual go-to drink. On the positive, the mix dissolves in a tall glass of room-temperature water with low-effort spoon-mixing, just as readily as my preferred variant. Very little residue is left behind after drinking, implying it dissolved completely. Rather than using cloying artificial sweeteners, I wish the manufacturer would just say "tastes best with a packet of your favorite sweetener". Especially since they recommend using a shaker or a blender, blending in your own sweetener into the mix wouldn't be hard. The whey protein/brand are recommended, this particular flavor/formulation not so much.

I am new to this whole protein powder idea, but I could not find any other way to combine protein with carbs and no fat as my diet calls for, so I ordered it. I also avoid artificial sweeteners & was surprised that this has sucrolose--I can't taste it. But that leads me to my next point--I am very sensitive to unnatural tasting foods which is why I have never gone the protein shake route before. So here is my recipe to really get a great tasting shake using this strawberry powder: 1 scoop powder, 2/3 C of frozen berries (I use Costco brand--BTW, I used frozen strawberries alone & the berry mix is much better), 1 C of orange juice, 1/3 banana. Blend all until smooth in the blender. It really tastes like something you'd buy at Jamba Juice, except it has about 250-300 calories for 16 oz+! On top of that, you get 18g of protein. I often add in some samba powdered seeds for even more protein. This is a great option for breakfast or lunch meal substitutions if you need to stay low-cal & lose weight. I have lost 5 lbs in the past week alone, which I have never been able to do in my life since I am a petite woman who's only about 10-20 lbs above where I should be. Eat a nice chicken or fish dinner with veggies each night for dinner & exercise 1-2 hrs every day, along with this protein shake plan & maybe you'll get similar encouraging results.

This was not worth my money because the sizes displayed when ordered were not what I expected for the money I spent.
