5.0 out of 5 stars Is it just coincidence that everyone gives this album five?, December 28, 2004

This review is from: DESTROY-OH-BOY (Audio CD)
The answer - no. That's because it's one of the best albums of the 90s - if not the best. In fact, it's just as much a punk classic as the first albums by the Ramones or the Cramps or New York Dolls. Thank god there's still bands like the Turks who beleive in the devine powers of rock 'n' roll, and that punk is a great way to bring those powers out. A vital rock 'n' roll document for one and all who want to save rock 'n' roll from the clutches of MTV and popular radio. Best songs: "Born Toulouse-Letoric", "Runnin' On Go", "Mr. Suit", "I'm Weak", and "Crying In the Beer of a Drunk Man". Than again, not a single song is bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars One more reason Midwest punk is the best, February 11, 2000

This review is from: DESTROY-OH-BOY (Audio CD)
Like many white suburban punks growing up in the early- to mid-80s, I lost my way in college. With a few exceptions, punk got boring and I found myself listening to more "college" rock. By the time this record came out I was in my mid-20s and spending all of money on oldies because nothing new was any good. The New Bomb Turks almost singlehandedly revived punk rock for the next six or seven years. This album will be looked at as one now looks at "Fun House" or the Ramones first record or "Never Mind the Bollocks" or "The Clash" or "Out of Step" or "Static Age" or "Double Nickels on the Dime." Essential if you think you're into punk.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Destroy Oh-Boy!" rocks!, November 15, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: DESTROY-OH-BOY (Audio CD)
One of the greatest raging full-on rock records of the nineties, right up there with Zeke's "Kicked in the Teeth". Raw, raging, rocket-fuelled punk rock n' roll. Sounds like Bo Diddley, the Stooges, and the Saints played with the velocity of Motorhead. You won't listen to anything else for a week after getting it.
