I had been looking for a roatary hammer drill for a while, I looked at the "cheap one" from a certain large tool retailer that shows ships in their logo but I couldn't bring myself to ordering it. For whatever reason I decided to stick with the known "National Brand" eventhough they're all probably produced in the same facilities overseas. When I priced out various rotary hammer drills on Amazon this one seemed to be a great price compared to most of the other well known brands. I don't do much drilling into concrete but was in need of the hammering function of this rotary hammer to break up some concrete. I was surprised and very happy with how well it worked to break up concrete (also how light it was to hold). For a DIY user this is a great item you aren't spending a small fortune to get a rotary hammer. I also added the Dewalt chisel bits at the same time. The case this comes with is nice, there was room to store the SDS chisel bits as well as a set of SDS drill bits. I like to have things put away nicely in a case so when I go to use it I don't have to search all over the place looking for the bits that go with it.

I can't say if this would work for heavy duty daily type use but for a DIY'er it seems to work quite well. It's light, has a nice case, and with the SDS bits they are quick and easy to change.

I am no tool expert so maybe most people already knows this, but this drill does not take the standard drill bit as it doesn't have the normal chuck. It has a quick release chuck that takes a drill bit with flat sides. Not a big deal I guess, just thought I would point it out so you know. I bought it with a chisel bit to break out some old thinset to re-seat a few loose tile and it made short work of the thinset. Seems to be well built and plenty powerful enough.

I bought this hammer not expecting so many functions. You got Jack hammer function, Normal drilling and Hammer drilling. In terms of power, it is remarkable. It is much more than i expected.

I am a home user that was trying to use a "hammer drill" to drill 1" holes in concrete. That didn't work so well. It was severely(!) under powered and the bit kept slipping. I had no idea what a Rotary hammer was, but after some research, I picked this up and what a difference! Even though it is only rated for 7/8 inch holes max, it make quick work of the 1" ones. (if i was a contractor and had to make holes all day, I would get a stronger one but for this limited use, with plenty of time, it worked great). This is a great drill / hammer for making heavy duty holes. I used this bit DEWALT DW5479 1-Inch by 8-Inch by 10-Inch Rock Carbide(TM) 4 Cutter SDS+ Hammer Bit which was awesome. This drill uses the STS+ connector so that the bit does not slip. I also got the Bosch 1618571014 SDS-plus Shank 3 Jaw Chuck with Integral adapter so that I could use "regular" bits for wood and stuff in "drill mode" only. That worked well with this drill also. I love Dewalt tools and buy them because they are tough and last "forever". This looks to be no exception.

I made the mistake of buying an inexpensive hammer drill, which worked, but began smoking and leaking oil at the end of the first day. I purchased the D25023K several weeks ago, but I have only used it once so far. It drilled holes in my concrete walls without problems and seems to have plenty of power. You do need to have SDS+ drill bits or a chuck adaptor. I bought the SDS+ chuck adaptor by Bosch which adds to the total cost. The chuck adaptor worked well with the Dewalt D25023K. I have no complaints ....so far.

I use to drill concrete with battery power hammmer drill and it take over 15min. to drill a 3" hole, that is just too long. Now that I got this Dewalt Compact SDS Rotary Hammer Drill, Boy this tool have alot of power and it only take less than 1min. to drill a 3" hole in a concrete. That is super fast compare to a regular hammer drill. I love this tool.

As a remodeler, I purchased this Hammer Drill to drill over 400 holes (5/16" to 7/16") in 60 year old concrete. I was attaching furring (1"x4") strips to support 1"x8" cedar.

When I first started the project, I was using a standard (cheap) hammer drill that anyone can purchase at any big box store, but because they used granite and other stones in their concrete mix, a generic drill will not work.

This DeWalt drill did the trick and got the job done.

I have to decuct one point, because this drill spitted a lot of oil, and made changing bits a bit of a pain.

Needed to remove part of a tile floor. Using a chisel bit and the hammer setting, this tool was perfect for the task.
