This is the one.

I had the oportunity to try several 15 guage nailers after deciding that my 16G Porter Cable could not do the job I wanted it.

Don't get me worng. My PC is the best 16G nailer in my arsenal but I needed something more.

I tried the Hitachi 15G, the Senco, and the Bostich.

I then tried the Dewalt and I was hooked. I was ready to buy the Hitachi, but the Dewalt went down to a 1" over the Hitachi 1 1/4" and the balance of the Dewalt just felt better in my hand. I also liked the feel of the trigger, plus the fact that I could access the depth adjustment more readily on the Dewalt over the Hitachi.

I have run about 16 hours of work with the tool so far and I am very happy with it. I run it with oil, since there is no better way to protect the seals and rings. I know that Dewalt advertises that you can run the tool without oil, but do not do it. You will just eat away at the life of the seals and piston rings.

No doubt a winner. Much improved over its previous D51275K.

I bought this nailer 4 months ago and went around and around trying to get nails that worked with it. The angle on Senco DA nails is slightly less than the nails that came with the nailer. I also tried a few after market nails--same deal. Finally I ordered Bostitch DA nails and they are exactly the same as the ones that came with it. Probably they are purchased by DeWalt for the kit. The Senco nails even say that they are for this gun on the package. They shoot 3 or 4 times and jam. Bostitch run great.

This gun is very smooth, it sets the nail just right.
I have used several differant guns professionally and this one is very desireable. If you want to save $20 and get junk that will jam at crunch time buy somthing else. If you want reliable smooth quality get this one....

I bought this nailer used in mint condition on Amazon. Seems to work fine. I am using Porter and Cable 2 1/2" nails and it shoots them well if you don't slam the nail bolt forward. If I slam it the nails seems to wedge in the delivery ramp and don't feed. A minor thing but it took me a minute to figure out why it was only shooting one nail and then stopped. Since then I've used it with no issues.

Just like everything Dewalt, this gun is simple, well-built, and works great. This is the only 15-gauge nailer I've used so I can compare it to anything else but I don't see anything that could potentially mark it off in comparison to other brands except for the trigger mechanism. On many nailers I've seen in the store I've noticed a little switch on the side that allows you to quickly change between the standard "push the tip in and pull the trigger" to the "bump action" which allows you to keep the trigger pulled and a nail is fired any time the tip is pressed. I've noticed fencing workers use this so they can just walk down the fence nailing boards up really quickly. The difference this gun has, and it may be a problem for some, is that to switch between these two actions you actually have to pull a pin out, take the trigger off, put on the other trigger, and then put the pin back in. It's hardly a difficult thing to do but it's much more tedious and time consuming than the switch mechanism on other brands. I build cabinets and only use this for a few applications where I need a fastener quickly and it won't be seen outside. For this, I'm hardly shooting out nails like it's a machine gun so the standard trigger option is good for me and I'll probably never change it (aside for the one time when I just wanted to try it out.)
In the end it's a great gun but if you see yourself switching actions a lot, keep in mind that it is slightly more tedious with this gun.

I have Porter Cable and Bostich nailers and needed an angled finish nailer for a job. I own many Dewalt tools and never have been disappointed. Dewalt was offering a rebate on $100 purchases couldn't pass it up. I love the balance of this nailer. I have no problem with the plastic parts and dropped it 5 feet once with no damage...just a scuff.

I bought this nailer 7 years ago and have never treated it well. It has always worked perfectly. I always use Senco nails and have never had a problem. It has a really narrow "barrel" where the nail exits and an arrow that shows exactly where the nail will come from. It is light as can be and the belt hook makes ladder trips better. I cant say enough good about this nailer. I worked on a trim crew with 6-8 others and they all use Sencos almost exclusively. We have to work with some exotic hard woods and drove 2" nails perfectly. Its very light and its easy to change nails. I only use the single fire trigger but it comes with both types.
