Great saw,Poor Blower
The 36v Dewalt is the best cutting jigsaw I have ever used,and that includes two corded Bosch saws. It is a heavy tool,but the weight keeps it steady in curves. This saws biggest failure is that its blower blows dust over the line,and I find that I must blow the line myself to clear the line. DeWalt's Utterly horrible Product Support
I have had this jigsaw for 4 years. It has not seen much use because it does not work well and is the weakest jigsaw I have ever used. Although it may SEEM solid and seems to have a solid feel with many adjustable settings, there is potential for it to be a good jigsaw ... However, when any amount of power is given, it slips (internally I think)...

The 36v Dewalt is the best cutting jigsaw I have ever used,and that includes two corded Bosch saws. It is a heavy tool,but the weight keeps it

I wrote about this to Dewalt and the technician admitted that the saws dust blower was "ineffective". If you can manage the dust,this is a great jigsaw.

I have had this jigsaw for 4 years.
It has not seen much use because it does not work well and is the weakest jigsaw I have ever used. Although it may SEEM solid and seems to have a solid feel with many adjustable settings, there is potential for it to be a good jigsaw ... However, when any amount of power is given, it slips (internally I think) and stops cutting. The motor continues to turn and it makes a lot more noise, but the blade disengages and no cutting she does. As a result, it takes 4 - EV- ER to cut anything and metal? 4get about it. i have called DeWalt a few times at this point and they won't help me resolve this as it is out of warranty. Even if it was under warranty, the parts to fix it are on back order for around 5 months minimum (so I am told and the parts house tells me that they have contacted "all of the DeWalt Service Centers in their rolodex" and no one has the particular c-clip needed to hold the parts in place (so it won't keep slipping) AND WON'T HAVE THEM FOR NEARLY FIVE MONTHS. Until this experience, I have///HAD been a promoter (meaning I spoke highly of DeWalt tools and they are good tools when they work mostly) but in this jigsaw's case, the tool is not a good tool. Even more, DeWalt and the calls to DeWallt for service have been a nightmare experience. They have offerred no help towards me regarding this issue with their tool. I do not recommend this saw and urge people considering DeWalt to look carefully at how DeWalt handles defective tools and how customers are treated by DeWalt (in or out of warranty time periods). |
