Power and Performance

Delivering up to 1,740 inch-pounds of torque, this speedy, cordless impact wrench produces a surprising amount of raw screw-driving power. The DC822KL has a no load speed of 0-2,400 RPM and 0-2,700 impacts per minute, and it has a 1/2-inch drive that's square with detent pin retention. Its frameless motor with replaceable brushes helps to extend durability and the life of the tool.

The durable metal transmission and magnesium gear case provide added protection, and the ergonomically shaped, anti-slip grip and heavy-duty impacting mechanism provide comfort for long-term use without kickback and fatigue. Just added the impact driver to my stable of DeWalt cordless tools.

I'm glad they've finally got their Lithium line in production.

I was afraid I would have to switch brands to get the better batteries.

They have designed their products to use the same battery in the older as
well as the new tools which means you won't have to carry two types of
chargers and two types of batteries when the older NiMH batteries die.

Just update your batteries to the Lithium and use the older tools.

This is a fantastic impact drill for the shade tree mechanic. Quite powerful (not enough for wheel lugs though). And the new Li-Ion batteries are awesome. Tons of power and they don't fade, they just go full power until they are dead.

Well worth the money to upgrade. Your existing Ni-Cad battery drills can also use these new Li-Ion batteries.
