Kind of heavy, but powerful & heavy duty. I like it. I'm 65, so this might be the last drill I ever have to buy. (That's depressing.)

Just to correct a previous reviewer, this drill is not powered by Li-ion batteries. The battery is Ni-Cad. This makes a difference if you are trying to match this drill up with another set of Ni-Cad tools.

For years I've used an old B&D corded drill which handled most chores around the house. I had to have some repairs done at my mothers home this past fall in preparation for selling the house and hired a friend who used this model Dewalt. It was so good at handling little and big jobs that when I had to make some repairs around my house and my old standby couldn't produce the power I needed I called my friend and got the model number and ordered one for myself. It was worth every penny with the first job I used it on, drilling a hole in the bottom of a large ceramic/ glazed pot. Being able to dial up the torque and use the "hammer" got the desired results. Great Drill.

The drill is very powerful and has so many settings that it can be used as screwdriver all the way to drilling concrete. Amazon shipment is also quick and reliable. Best price anywhere on the web or in-store.

This is my 2nd one. The 1st Ive had for 6 years and have used to drill, bore, screw, and hammer drill thousands of times and it still works. My batteries are shot so the drill smokes when using so I replaced it with this new one. With the new batteries the old drill work fine again but I'm keeping the new one for in home stuff and using the old one for farm fences and dirty work. Simply one of the best tools Ive ever owned. Amazon has the best price.

We have given Dewalt tools as gifts for years. The kits are well packaged in durable hard plastic cases. The suitcases are easy to repack and to store. The tools work well and are dependable.

I am a tile Contractor. DEWALT DCD950KX 18-Volt 1/2-Inch XRP Hammerdrill/Drill/Driver does everything I need it to do. It puts screws in underlayment, and does a great job. It has the strength to countersink the screw, which my 12 volt did not. It is heavier than the 12-volt. It is stronger, well-made, a very good drill. The battery lasts a while before needing to be recharged. I would definitely recommend this drill for people who need a serious drill.

Just bought this for $ 149.99 from one of Amazon 3rd party vendors and finished awning installation over the weekend.
Putting holes over the brick to anchor awning on the wall was breeze-thanks to this Dewalt hammerdrill. The tool was very powerful and easy to use. I can see why other people recommend this product. I had the regular black and decker for 7 years, and now it feels like toy compare to this Dewalt hammer drill. I feel so happy I can emulate the professionals with this tool! Even after investing in this tool, the whole project came out cheaper than calling the professional to install awning.

My first "real" drill, and it hasn't disappointed yet. Needed the hammer setting, and this works great for my needs. Wasn't sure about the LED light, but it actually is really handy. The different settings are great - speed and function, as well as the clutch.

I'm very pleased with this drill. The three speed function, plus being a hammer drill, make it useful for a wide variety of tasks. With respect to my Porter Cable hammer drill, it's somewhat smaller, lighter and easier to handle. In my book, it's an excellent purchase.
