I made this purchase 5 months ago; Awesome buy. Both units have surpassed my expectations. The hammerdrill's torque is awesome, great clutch and I can not say enough impressive comments about the battery and the chuck assembly. The settings are customizable in a logical and productive manner.

I think the Impact driver is just beautiful. It knows when and where to stop forcing the screw in like magic. Much better than my other XXXXXXX brand Impact driver.

Before buying this, my only concern was a comment I saw about the Nano batteries... there was a complaint about how the units stop working once the power is drained instead of just winding down gradually... well it turns out these batteries never go to Empty/Full on any charge/discharge cycle. That means, the battery decides to stop working once its charge depletes down to a certain mark (I don't know what). It does this for one reason... Longevity... it turns out this is one reason why these last 2000 charge cycles... while it would have been nice to have an indicator telling you how much charge you have left, I really don't see it as a deal breaker.

Great drills, I became a fan in no-time.

Bought this set to replace my 18v L-ion Makita impact/driver set I've worked hard for 3 years.
The impact driver is powerful with good variable speed trigger action. A bit more control than my Makita.
Also, the impact is a bit heaver than the Makita due the the metal internals and the larger battery pack, I'll likely purchase a set of "mini" batteries for applications where weight is an issue (did this with my Makita as well).
The hammer drill is too heavy for normal diver applications, but can be used that way occasionally.
I would have stayed with Makita, but they do not offer the battery powered tools I need for my business, and Dewalt does.
I'm happy with the set. I like that the bag it comes with has extra room for bits and adapters and such.

I debated long and hard between the Bosch CLPK22-180 18-Volt 2-Tool Litheon Combo Kit, and this Combo pack.
I own tools from both companies.
My last Dewalt drill lasted me more than 10 years. The batteries finally died completely, and I thought I'd put whatever money it would cost for new batteries towards a whole new drill.
I read as much information about both drills, and searched for whatever reviews I could find.
I ended up buying the Bosch, and boy was that a mistake. The Bosch was Very slow (in comparison), no low end torque, short battery life, etc...
Very frustrating trying to accomplish the jobs I needed, that vary from drilling through different densities of wood, metal, plastic, holes in concrete walls, setting tons of screws, running a grinding attachment, etc...

I bought this Dewalt combo pack before returning the Bosch kit, and I couldn't be Happier with it. I could
Immediately feel the difference in Quality. Having both tools to do my own side by side tests proved the Dewalt far superior. No question. Dewalt is stronger, faster, overall more powerful, best chuck ever, smooth and with multiple speed settings, you get exactly what you need... An amazing tool that can do anything. I use my tools for all kinds of work, and can't have something that's going to give out when I need it most.
I feel silly for even thinking Bosch or anyone else could make a comparable drill.

My new batteries work in my old drill + circ saw, that still have plenty of life left in them, even after a decade of regular use.

I plan on adding to my Dewalt cordless set w/ additional bare tools. I think the cordless jigsaw & grinder are next on my tools to buy list.

This is an excellent deal. While it may be true that Amazon is not an authorized dealer (not confirmed), you do not need a receipt for warranty service. There is a date code on each tool that DeWalt uses to verify date of purchase/warranty period. they do not need to know where it was purchased.

I love Dewalt, I have been using their tools for many years and I never had a problem. Yes the batteries are expensive but I recharge them every day more than one time and they just perform day after day. I always buy batteries on special so I get the better deal. I am a professional contractor, so I depend on my tools.
Amazon.com is the way to go, 2 days after ordering, my new tools are on the job site...

I'm Just Really Upset That I Received A Hard Shell Case For MY dewalt Impact And Hammer drill. It Was illustrated In The Description OF the Drill That You Receive A Dewalt Contractors Bag Instead Of A Hard Shell Case. I'm Not Sure Why Amazon Likes To Demonstrate Their products With False Advertising. Errr. I Really Hope Amazon Sends ME A Contractors Case To Still Keep A Smile On My Face!

Received the DEWALT DCK275L 18-Volt XRP Lithium-ion DRILL/IMPACT COMBO KIT a few days ago what great tools. More power than I will ever need. The belt clip on the impact driver is a nice addition. I have drilled through steel, cement and wood without a hesitation! They are a little pricey but appear to be well worth it!

This is a great kit to add to your Dewalt collection. In fact I like it so much that when some scumbag shattered the window and stole the entire bag, I bought another. Do not leave in plain sight, it will get stolen...other than that A+ to dewalt.

I purchased this combo kit to 'replace' my old DeWalt 18v NiCad drill/driver/hammerdrill. Honestly, there was no mechanical reason to do so, but after pricing replacement batteries, and considering the need to expand my cordless tool collection to include a sawzall and circular saw, it made most sense to upgrade to the lithium technology.
I did have an initial issue with the drill/driver/hammerdrill when the kit arrived. The trigger switch failed almost immediately. I called DeWalt who instructed me to return the whole kit to Amazon or bring it to a repair shop for warrantied service. I elected to send the kit back. The second shipment was sent Fedex and arrived next day. No problems at all since. After many years of uniform reliability from my DeWalt tools, I decided they had earned a mulligans for that one.
The power of the impact driver is tremendous. I was able to sink a 3 inch long 1/4" bolt directly into a pressure treated 4X4 with ease. It actually sank the hex head right into the material. This is now a go to tool for almost all my fastener needs.
The drill/driver/hammerdrill has excellent balance and power capabilities. It is somewhat heavier than the vanilla drill/driver 18 volt model offered, but the reduction in weight due to the lithium vs. NiCad outweighs this difference. If you are never going to use the hammerdrill feature, and you intend to do work requiring that you keep your drill held up over your head all day, I would consider the lighter drill/driver kit. Regardless, this is a vast improvement over the past DeWalt product line with 3 speed settings and double the driver clutch settings.
The lithium batteries are excellent as well, carrying better charge for longer with less added weight than the NiCad. They charge quickly and last all day. I haven't actually been able to run them down yet, although I haven't tried them in sustained use with power hungry tools like the circular or recip saw.

Both the hammerdrill and impact drive meet and exceed expectations. Make all tasks seem effortless. Well constructed. The size and wieght benefit with the lithium vs the NiCad battery is noticeable. I would rather that they came with a hard case rather than the bag. They are more expensive than comparable competitors like Makita LXT202 18-Volt Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Lithium-Ion Combo Kit. If I was going to by a set again it would be a close call.
