As always, DeWalt exceeded my expectations. This gem arrived in perfect condition. Once I had completed assembly and added oil and fuel, I gave a very light tug on the rope to get a feel for how much resistance it would offer. It started! Have only had it a few weeks, but it works just as advertised. The automatic idle is a very nice feature which really keeps noise down when there is no load. Note - be sure to follow instructions, since the generator is shipped without oil. If you like to jump ahead, do not put in fuel or oil before assembling wheels and lifting hook.

This Dewalt generator is ,without question,one of the nicest on the market. It's level of design,preformance and finish is the best available today. I have used many generators,from various manufactures and I would say that this Dewant unit compares with the super-duty,heavy construction, units I've used. You can't go wrong.

I didn't intend to write a review about the DG4300 until I stumbled across it on Amazon. I bought a DG4300 in September 2003 and have used it dozens of times during power outages (once for 12 days straight following a hurricane). While this is not a whole house generator, I have used it to routinely power 2 full size refrigerators, a chest freezer, 4 or 5 lamps, 2 TVs with satellite receivers, fans or portable space heaters (depending on time of year), 2 computers, a microwave, coffee pot, and alarm clocks without a hiccup. I usually get between 10-12 hours on a full tank of gas which is handy during overnight power outages. I have performed only routine maintenance on this generator (oil, plug, air filter) and it runs as good as the day I bought it, and it starts on the first pull each and every time, even after 7 years. In fact, I had to crank it up last night (7/6/11) after a bad thunderstorm and one pull was all it took to start. I labeled the main parts of the generator for a simple 4-step start up so even my wife or son can start it with ease. Step 1: Engine On/Off Switch. Step 2: Open Fuel Petcock Valve. Step 3: Pull Choke Closed (if cold). Step 4: Power On Switch after generator has warmed up and is running stable with choke open. The DG4300 features two twist lock receptacles (one 120 VAC 30 amps, one 120/240 VAC 20 amp), and 2 duplex 120VAC GFCI receptacles rated at 20 amps each. The DG4300 will supply both 120 and 240 VAC or you can place the Voltage Selector switch to Maximum 120 VAC only. This generator is a workhorse, extremely well built, fairly easy to move, and it will definitely be there and ready to go whenever you need it. You could spend half as much on a cheaper generator but, I doubt you would get the same level of performance as the DG4300.

I have just recently received this generator from Amazon.It is without a doubt the best quality generator I have ever had. I have had a lot of generators since I live on the Mississippi gulf coast and have had to survive the aftermath of all of the hurricanes that have devestated our area,including Hurricanes Camille,Frederic,Eleana,George and Katrina. I wanted a generator that would be dependable yet economical,since gasoline is at a premium after a hurricane.This generator starts easily and runs quietly.I would recommend this generator to anyone in search of a top quality generator at a reasonable price.Buy it from Amazon you can't go wrong.

What can I say. I've had this unit for awhile now and living on the NW Oregon Coast it's been used over and over again. Last year, we were out of electricity for almost two full weeks. I ran extension cords to not only my house and two refrigerators, but TWO OF MY NEIGHBORS HOUSES too. Every morning I fired the generator up and ran it for 3-4 hours straight. Then, we shut it down for the day until about 6pm when it was fired up for the evening meals and children's food prep. It worked flawlessly and ran a total of 4 refrigerators, and 3 freezers too. Plus, my Satellite DISH Network TV (but don't tell the neighbors that...I told them they couldn't use ANY other applaiances because of the potential load.) Again, it worked flawlessly and I would recommend this unit to everyone...And, I have! Part of the attraftion was that this DeWalt is powered by a thrifty and bullet proof 8hp Honda Engine. Again, what more can I say except if you think you want a generator about this size, this is the one I would get if I had to do it all over again. Not too big, yet big enough for what it is intended??? I like It! (c~;

Performs flawlessly. I do recommend that one uses a fuel stabilizer in the gas. I do and have never had any problems.
