Without fail, it's always where I've placed it, in this holder.

We purchased this to carry belt-mounted tools and found it to be sturdy and flexible enough to fit on multiple belts.

This hammer holder is very well built, and the padding makes it comfortable to wear.

This hammer holder works very well and will last far longer than the leather ones I've been using. It fits all my hammers well from the 28 oz framing meat tenderizer to the 12 oz finish hammer. I chose this one over the CLC options simply because I thought it'd be a step up, but the tag showed that it is made for DeWalt by CLC, so you could save a few bucks buying a CLC-branded holder. I'm pleased with it anyway, and it should last many years.

I've bought this heavy duty hammer holder from DeWalt because I really like the quality of the brand. As far as I know they build some of the toughest power tools.... Their tools seem to be built to last and so does this hammer holder. To keep the review brief, I'll try to divide it in topics.

The material:
The hammer holder is made of a really tough material. It's light and at the same time tough. The metallic part of the holder is plated to avoid corrosion. I live in a really moist environment and there seems to be no signal of corrosion until now. (I have this holder for about 3 months) I think I could rate the material 5 out of 5.

The design:
This holder is designed for heavy duty work only. And by that I don't exactly mean 24/7 work... I really think the "heavy duty" part refers to heavy and large hammers. I tried to hold a medium sized claw hammer, but it just kept falling down. Because of that its now sitting in my drawer with no much use... Despite this minor problem, the design is ok. It easily fits a 2" belt. It's also not good if you like to remove it from the belt on a regular basis, because the belt goes through the holder and you have to slide the holder to the end of the belt in order to remove it. I'd rate it 3 out of 5 just because it does not hold my hammer. I'd give it a 4 star rating if it did.

Overall:
It's a good heavy hammer holder. It seems sturdy enough to hold large ball hammers, but is not suitable for medium sized ones. All in all I give it a 3 star rating. Buyers should fully understand that the name "heavy duty" refers to heavy hammers only.

It's good to have the hammer positioned where you want it to be, so you can use it to balance your tool belt instead of heavy on one side.

I bought this back in February, 1012 and am still using it everyday at work. This product holds a 24 ounce demolition hammer very comfortably and securely. During a work shift, I must grab for my hammer over 200 times. Without fail, it's always where I've placed it, in this holder. I don't even feel the holder when my hammer is not in it. Sometimes if my hammer is not in my holder, I still reach for to this holder. I got so used to the comfort and balance of this product that I sometimes forget about the 24 ounce hammer that it carries. It's durable as well. I'm a 'Building Wrecker' and all I do is demolish buildings. I can see this product lasting many more years and hope it does. No one likes spending their own money on work tools, well I definitely don't.

I think this is a quality product, from a well known brand. i would buy another one if I needed it, but I still have this one.

I wanted to design a new tool belt which eliminated all of the frustrations my old one had. I started with the hammer. I wanted it on my right side (i'm right handed) but didn't want my hammer hanging super low or banging into my leg. This solved that problem immediately. This allows the hammer to sit higher on my body and closer to my waistline but leaves the head of my hammer about 3-4 inches down from the belt. Be warned that this holder's ring opening is pretty large so if you have a small claw hammer this might not be for you. I have a Dewalt 12oz rip hammer and it sits fine. My only complaint is the noise that is made from the hammer and the ring rubbing/banging into each other when walking and moving around. I wrapped the ring in electrical tape and now i'm noise free. Finally, I love the way this holder can slide around the belt with ease while on. If i'm up under a cabinet i simply slide my hammer holder to the center of my back to get it out of the way. I understand this might not be as practical for heavier ppl. I'm 5'10 165. Hope this helps.
