The DW005K-2 7/8-inch SDS Plus rotary hammer comes with a rotation-only mode for wood and metal drilling, hammer mode for concrete drilling, and chisel only for chipping. The factory-set clutch reduces sudden, high-torque reactions if the bit jams. The 360-degree side handle adapts easily for tight spaces. An electro-pneumatic hammer mechanism permits drilling with less noise, vibration, and engagement force than round shank hammer drills. It has a range of 0 to 1,150 rpm and 0 to 5,800 bpm. The common contractor usage range is 5/32- to 5/8-inch solid bit and 1- to 2-1/2-inch thin wall core bit, and the maximum recommended capacity is 7/8-inch solid bit. The fan-cooled XR+ batteries with the fan-cooled charger keeps the battery pack cool, providing up to three times more charges. Kit includes hammer, two XR+ fan-cooled batteries, fan-cooled charger, and carrying case.

I had just installed a brand new kitchen sink; what can I say? I could not have done it so fast without this kit.

To remove the old sink, if I were doing it the old way, I would have used a chisel and a hammer and manuallly chip the cement away. With this kit, all I need was insert an SDS 1.5 inch wide chisel and dadada... it broke the cement around the tiles like breaking crackers, and all I need was exsert a little body weight to press it again the surface! I was able to remove the cement over the sink, and lift the sink in 30 minutes.

90 percent of my tools are cordless, and I only use 2 brands: Dewalt and Milwaukee. Dewalt's battery seems to last longer on a single charge, and retain power longer when not in use. Take this kit's battery for instance, it kept going without any sign of losing power through out the time I was using it, yet the battery was last charged over a week ago.

I have never owned or operated a corded SDS hammer drill before, but for the power it is putting out, it should be very similar to the corded ones. I bought it for the chiseling function, and it is really working great for me. A powerful time-saver!
