5.0 out of 5 stars Another good item
I've only used this tool a few times and it has out performed my expectations each time. Working as a marine technician you see a lot of rusty engine mounts, each time I've used it this tool had no problem. Its also well balanced and compact, certinly not a the biggest amount of torque but enough for alot of smaller jobs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dewalt impact Wrench
Poor torque and charging power... returned the unit the first week. Bought the Sears Craftsmen Unit... more money, but far superior.

YEA! No more striped screw heads. Driving 3" screws into 2 x 4 studs without stripping out the screws is wonderful. This tool makes the job quick and easy. Driving sheet metal screws is a breeze. Wouldn't trade this tool for anything else.

4.0 out of 5 stars dewalt coordless impact, August 2, 2007
This review is from: DEWALT DW057K-2 18-Volt Ni-Cad 1/2-Inch Cordless Impact Wrench (Tools & Home Improvement)
The tool is a great tool for all kind of fixing that need to be asemble or disasemble. The impact is strong enough for mechanic and the battery is a 5 star quality, I charge it once for about a month ago and it is still strong, I use it every day some more than other but the battery doesn't drain of it power as fast as other cordless tools that I have use.
THANX Dewalt.

My company sells and erects Behlen curvet buildings. A building 100 feet long has over 6000 bolts in it. We take 2 (two) of these impacts out with us on each job. The batteries last about 400 bolts (very good). These two impacts have gone with us this year on at least five jobs. They have set over 40,000 bolts and we have had no problems. We love this tool.

Bought this for my other half and it works good for many things in the garage. Goes great with the cordless drill. Love DeWalt.

Used it to build my steel versatube shed. I was using two corded drills: one to drill a small hole and the other to drive the dysfunctional self- tapping screws. This drove the self tapping screws into the steel like it was butter. Finished the shed it much sooner than I figured.

An adaptor set (1/2 to 3/8 and 1/4 to 1/2) improves this tool. Also, extenders, bits (flat, square, phillips, hex, etc.) will make this much more flexable.

Was a little concerned about the real power of the Tool. Ordered it anyway (tired of compressor, air hose and noise of airtool). Charged up batts and zipped of lug nuts torqued to 150lbs no problem. Small enough to use just about anywhere, battery is actually larger than power head. Compared to air tool not noisy at all, and much more convenient. I use it for just about anything I would use a ratchet for. I don't depend on this tool for final tightening of nuts/bolts, I use torque wrench. Sure makes things quicker/easier, I hope it likes getting greasy!!
