I'm a union carpenter and do alot of metal stud framing in the greater Seattle area.I got this because I have used so many De Walt cordless drills over the past twenty years furnished for us tradesmen by large union constuction companies here.It is so functional that two more guys on the crew that used it bought they're own.
What more can I say!

GREAT TOOL! USING IT TO SQUARE FLOORS AND FOR INTERIOR WORK. BETTER THAN THE HIGH DOLLAR ONE I HAD BEFORE. GREAT VISIBILITY AND ACCURACY! hIGHLY RECOMEND!!

This device is a real time saver and quite accurate.
The only thing I would add is a 5th beam for 180 degree type layout instead of just 90 degree, but I think its great just the same.

I bought this to do some framing after using only traditional levels for years. This is truly a great tool. We next used it on a pine floor we installed and were very happy with the squaring function. I thought this was going to be an over-priced toy that we rarely used, but it has already paid for itself in two major projects. I thought it was easy to learn to use and I am just a "weekend DIYer". It seems heavy duty, but we don't bash our tools around, so it would be hard for me to say how it would hold up on a construction site with clumsy or careless people handling it. It does come with a nice little case for you to store it in during transit or when not in use. I was concerned about the laser not being bright enough after reading several of the reviews, but I thought it was more than adequate for our uses.

This is a quality made product. Its built to last. Its alot bigger than the PLS model and the laser beam isn't very bright. If your doing layout more than 100 feet, find something else. If your beam is less than a 100 feet its really nice. I've used cheaper ones and they are just as good but I am still happy overall with the product.

This looked well made and heavy duty and that is why I put the five stars. I ordered this laser level with a Dewalt Tripod to mount the level onto. So there I am with a Dewalt laser level and a Dewalt level tripod, but I was unable to connect part A to part B. These two pieces do not go together the threads are different. I would think all Dewalt levels would fit all of the Dewalt tripods, but hey that is just me. I returned both items and bought a Bosch laser level and happy I did. I put my Bosch laser level onto my Bosch telescoping pole and guess what they fit together just fine.
