5.0 out of 5 stars Great set up
These bits with the countersink set up work great. The countersink can be adjusted to compensate for a shorter screw length. The set of three is under 25 bucks at both Home Depot and Lowes, so shop carefully.

2.0 out of 5 stars just ok
I bought these bits at the local home depot. I was happy to see counter sink bits that were reasonably priced. But unfortunately they are weak! light duty only folks. nice set but be careful with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Versitle Drill bits, March 4, 2002

I had an opportunity to purchase and use a set of these tapered countersink bits on a job where we had hundreds of countersunk pilot holes to drill. I used a drill bit stop placed on the shaft of the countersink to regulate the depth. They performed flawlessly. I later used them to pre-drill holes in plexiglass by turning the countersink around backwards and using a rubber washer as a cushion. I am a believer in using the right tool for the right job. I haven't ever seen any better bits of this type from any other vendor. *****

These bits do a great job. I'm about to buy spare drill bits for the set. True, there are cheaper versions. I've destroyed several. The "cheaper" versions have set screws that strip out quickly, or spin because you can't tighten them enough.

I have been a professional woodworker for 30 years now. By far these bits are the best for the the professional woodworker who needs the ability for a tool to respond to the everyday jobsite. I dont leave home with out them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dewalt DW2535 Countersink Set, July 8, 2008

I bought this set after breaking several countersink drill bits bought at major home improvement stores. Those bits would break after drilling 3 or 4 holes in my composite decking material. I used one Dewalt countersink bit to finish my project, drilling about 50 holes. The Dewalt bit still looks as though it has not been used. I highly recommend this countersink set for any project involving composite decking boards.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great but expensive, December 29, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: DEWALT DW2535 3 Piece #6, #8, and #10 Countersink Assortment (Tools & Home Improvement)
Somewhat of a funky taper on the drill bits, but they work well. Not as adjustable (drill bit length) as I thought or as the packaging would lead you to believe. Finally, these are many times more expensive than some of the cheaper countersinks out there. If you have a "serious" need for countersinking, then this is a good set.

This bit set is not cheap. However, I would have only spent $10 extra to get them, if I had not tried to get cheaper sets first. I find that I'm using these more and more, from shed building to jig building. I have one of these bits in the cordless drill and a screw driver bit in the cordless impact driver. The collars easily adjust to different screw lengths and the collar don't slip. My first cheap version would slip without me noticing, until I drill right out the front side of the project. That is frustrating. But it doesn't happen any more.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best set out there, July 1, 2008
This review is from: DEWALT DW2535 3 Piece #6, #8, and #10 Countersink Assortment (Tools & Home Improvement)
I will probably repeat some other reviewers, but I have similar experience. Other sets are cheaper, so you go for them, but you end up frustrated. That's what happened to me as well. This is the best set on the market for general woodworking and furniture building (I am not including specialized bits and screws professional cabinet makers use). The drills are sharp and longer than competing sets, which gives you added flexibility to adjust depth. The collar has multiple cutters (BTW, Hitachi collars have just 1!) and 2 (not one!) screws to hold the collar in place without slipping. The end result is that you can make clean, precise cut every time, without splinters, without fear that the collar will slip. If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought this set right away. Other sets will only waste your money and you will eventually end up buying this set anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome addition for your toolbox, July 25, 2000

These countersinks are the best! The four blade cutter produces excellent countersinks without the usual ovaling or splinters. The dual set screws don't slip, most other brands only use one set screw. Also as part of the Rapid Change system, you quickly change your drill from drill mode to driver mode.

If you don't know what to get your husband or father for a present, this set is a definite treasure!
