DEWALT DW2567 #6 Countersink with 9/64-Inch Drill Bit

I have burnout,broken,dulled,and demolished every kind of countersink/drill bit Ive been able to find over the years. Even my old fovorite, the Fuller countersink, would need attention after 8 or 10 jobs. I'd get a year out of a set, maybe. Then I got my hands on some DeWalt countersink, and after more than a dozen jobs I still haven't had to sharpen a one. Even the #6 & #8 which I use the most. The countersink has stayed sharpe though hundeds of holes,in plywood,pressboard, formica,& solid stock. The drill bit has also exceded my exspectations. It has stayed true and hasn't shown any signs of fatigue. I have yet to have to sharpen either piece, which has save me time (and money). This is the best countersink combination I have found. I could go years without buying another one , if I didnt loose it at the last job.

This countersink has to be the best on the market. Ive tried many diffrent brands over the years and never found as good. I buid resturants for a living that requres a demanding scheul.which really puts tools to a harsh test.this tool has preformed well.

The Dewalt graduated drill bits with built in countersink are the best drill bits for general wood working. The 9/64 size is perfect for drywall screws (#6) and larger sizes are also available. At my local Home Depot these only come in a 3-pack (3 different sizes) and I almost always only want the #6 size. Luckily, that is available from Took King.

These bits make a larger hole where the screw enters and a smaller one where the screw starts to bite into the piece being screwed into, eliminating the situation where the screw tightens into the first piece instead of the second.

I have had many countersinks in my life (when I was carpenter on movies and television). This is an excellent purchase for the cost. I haven't used it enough to know how long it will stay sharp.

If you're drilling very exacting holes in hard wood this is a great product. I just laid down 340 sq. feet of Ipe (aka Ironwood) using 1X4 tongue and groove installed diagonally. Each screw (you can't use nails on Ipe) had to be precisely pre-drilled before setting the stainless steel screw. The design of this drill bit couldn't work better for that process.

For countersinking this bit works best for me. It drills a hole that allows the wood to be pulled together well without striping. I would recomend this bit to anyone.
