I've had this now for about a month and there really isn't one thing I could find wrong with this saw. It runs smooth, has a good line of sight, feels well balanced and doesn't bog down on any of the cuts. I also really liked the lower blade guard. It seems to be designed differenty so that it never gets hung up in the material. The case has storage for a couple of blades. I've tried the Porter-Cable, Milwaukee, and Bosch, but this is my favorite.

I'm not particularly a fan of "sidewinder" saws. I much prefer the worm drive skil saw. I got a great deal on this saw, I bought it from a friend who won it as a door prize. I have two other circular saws, a skil worm drive and a milwaukee. The DeWalt is light and well balanced. Although it doesnt have the power of the Skil it never felt under powered. It was a good choice to cut windows into a wall in a board and batten sided house. It was very easy to control, cutting in non-conventional positions. The guard did seem to work well, but I have yet to cut rafters or other angle cuts with it. The saw came with a good hard case. While it wont replace my worm drive it is a very nice saw to have for the times I want something lighter and easier to handle.

I am not a professional, but a fairly serious do-it-yourselfer. I have used this saw for a couple of projects. As easy as any to set depth or angle and change blades. Lots of torque. Makes nice straight cuts.

Before my purchase, I read a review or two that complained about an angle that made it difficult to use with a fence. There has been a design change and this saw works easily with a fence.

What convinced me this was the saw I was looking for was my new bench-top. I glued two sheets of 3/4-inch plywood together, and the saw made a nice clean straight cut, as if it was not even making an effort.

I had been wanting and needing a circular saw but did not want to shell out the cash for one of the better ones out there. I just simply do not have use for one that much, just for small jobs around the house. I also did not want to spend my money on one that probably would not last me that long as well. I found this one to be just what i wanted and needed. A heavy duty product but with a reasonable price. Could not be happier. Has all the power you could need. My father came by to help me with a deck and he left wanting to take it from me. Maybe for his birthday. I would reccomend it.

Between this and the Dewalt with the break system, they are the best saws you can get IMHO. I would take this saw over the version with the break though, it has great power, never binds, is very light, and cost less than the break model. I have been able to make very long straight cuts through plywood with this saw, and it will go through a 2x4 in about 1.5 seconds. If you are at all serious about cutting wood for a fence, framing, deck building, anything that needs you to be able to cut fast and clean, while still allowing you to move around easily this is the saw for you. Runs on a 2 prong plug, which is a plus because my only long extension cord is a light duty cord, it handles this saw's power requirement easily.

I have been using this saw for a year and half and it still looks and run like the day it came out of the box. I have upgraded the blade. If you don't know much about cutting, be advised that the blade that comes with this saw, cuts very fast but leaves a rough cut, and in plywood it will fray the edges of the wood significantly. Get a Diablo blade, or any blade with a higher tooth count and you can remedy most of this problem if it is an issue for you.

OK, I didn't buy this because Mike and his crew use Dewalt. But it doesn't hurt. I bought this because I needed a circular saw for a reasonable price that offered a good value for the money. This saw is light and easy to handle. The Dewalt circular saw rip fence works well with this saw. The adjustment levers are easy to move and set.

I have had this saw for about three years now with no issues whatsoever. I like everything about the saw from the adjustments the power, the case, and even the cord. I was a little concerned buying the lightweight saw that it may sacrafice some durability for lightweight but that hasnt been the case for mine. Some people prefer a worm drive saw for the power and the weight. For me this saw has never lacked anything in the power department, and with the 15 amp motor the saw still feals fairly substantial.

Some guys that have used this tool have disliked the markings on the front of the shoe for the line. This saw is cast with small v grooves in the measurement offset locations and small L shapes for the 90 deg and 45 deg marks. none of the markings offer measurments. I personally like the setup and the lack of measurments doesnt bother me but some preffer the polished shoe with numbers on them. Incedentally the deapth adjustment does have marks but I find them difficult to use accuratly. I ussually just measure the deapth with my tape if I need it fairly accurate. The bevel on my saw does have a polished metal indicator with stops at 22.5 and 45 degree. They are very accurate.
