As a professional contractor we have tried many different blades and this is just average. For the money I can think of plenty of blades that cut better and last longer. I bought this because it says it's for porcelain although it does much better on softer materials like marble and slate. My saw actually started cutting 18x18 tiles at an angle or out of square after just a few jobs. When I installed a new blade from another manufacture my saw was cutting perfect again. I guess the crooked cutting was a sign to replace this average blade with a new one.

This blade seems to cause chipping on the surface of the cut edge. As I cut tiles yesterday, I was watching closely from the side as I slowly eased the tiles through the wet blade. What I noticed was that the front edge of the blade made a nice clean cut, but as the tile moved to the back half of the blade (which is rotating upwards), the minor chipping on the surface started to happen exactly at the point where the yellow Dewalt paint meets the thin bare metal edge of the blade. I also noticed flecks of yellow paint wearing off the blade. It looked like the thickness of the yellow paint on this saw blade was doing some minor damage to the cut edge. I have to wonder if they left more of a bare metal edge if this wouldn't have been an issue.

I just made sure that my cut edges all ended up against a wall where I can hide it with the baseboard that will sit on top. So, no issue at the end. However, the little chips would have bugged me more if the cut edge were visible.

I should note, in all fairness that I'm an inexperienced DIY'er. For reference, the tile saw I'm using is a Chicago Electric Pro Series from Harbor Freight. This isn't an expensive saw, so there may be other contributing factors. However, I tried this on 3 or 4 different types/brands of tile, and the all had the same problem. I tried running painters tape on the cut line. I held the tile in different ways to stabilize it. I made sure there was plenty of water. At the end, the thing that convinced me was that I could observe with my own eyes that the damage was happening right as the tile was passing the back side of the blade where the yellow paint stops.

I'll be trying another blade when I get to the shower, because it'll be more difficult to hide the cut edge there.

I am a 20 year tile setter. I use my 10 dewalt wet saw daily and I cut all types of tile with this blade. I change it out about every 10 - 12 months. I cut natural, porcelain, ceramic, even some glass mosaic and it has cut it well. (even though I don't think they meant for it to cut glass) I would say that this is one of the best blades for the money.

Everybody likes to be thrifty from time to time, and I tried every no-name ceramic tile blade...
We cut ceramic tile, hard porcelain tile, granite tiles and even solid stone.
(we do commercial work).
I have to admit that DeWalt XP is worth paying the extra price - it outlasts the cheap blades many times over.
it cuts granite as if it were butter, and there is enough diamond on the blade to last through many many cuts.
No chips, no problems.

However, as other reviewers mentioned, the blade is very thin and flexible. It cuts faster because of it, but at the same time
it becomes an issue in bevels, and a really big problem if the edge needs to be taken off - the blade just bends and glides on the end instead of cutting straight down.

Recommended.

As others have said, this is a good blade for making vertical cuts. Bevels not so much as it is thin and tends to flex. As long as you are cutting with the good side of the tile up, it will make a clean cut. If you have to flip the tile and cut with the good side down, it will chip. Not big hunks but enough to leave a ragged edge.
Does equally well with ceramic and porcelain. A bit slower on the porcelain. Need to slow way down nearing the end of the cut or Iit will chip off the corner. Maybe an 1/8" or so.
I tiled kitchen counters and back splash, a walk in shower and bathroom floor. Still has probably half its life left. I used the largest Harbor Freight saw they sell. Very pleased with it.

goes through tile like butter .. there is a staggering reality when it comes to blade deflection you can't have a wet noodle narrow kurf for a blade doing what it does with tile and not expect 1/16 th- 1/8th deflection theres alot more than the square setup /water cooling aspect if you need to achieve extreme precision and you want to replicate several tiles you need a ridged blade i don't mean brand name.i bought one cut great .didn't tighten on the arbor and the deflection was spooky.put my worn out blade back on and no problem. slower for sure.will buy the thickest blade i can find.i have tiled around 20,000 feet as a general contractor not a setter by trade .own three saws 2 MKs 1 ridgid

I literally wore out my last blade cutting tile for kitchen and bath remodeling jobs. This blade works great and is a lot less expensive than going to the big box stores and buying it there. I still can not figure out why the tile chips on the right side at the very end of the cut unless you are very very careful. Even then it chips sometimes which is the reason I lowered the rating to four stars instead of five..
