The instructions say to use the brush with the guards on. I have a 4 1/2" Porter-Cable and it is a very close fit. The brush sparks on the guard but cuts fine. I guess the 4" wheel would have been better in my situation. You'll probably have to take the guard off if you do much with this brush. I also have a smaller cup brush and don't have any issues like this one. I gave it Stars because it does what it is supposed to do.

If you've only used hand powered or drill powered wire brushes, you ain't seen nothin' yet. One of these on a grinder whips off rust like gangbusters.

No vibration. Effective. I got two DEWALT cup brushes as well, and they are not as good. I recommend this product.

very satisfied with this wheel. Does a very good job of cleaning rust from metal, and I do not notice any flyaway from the wheel. However, you should still wear eye protection and face shield if available. Highly recommend

Great wire wheel, alot more durble than others I have purchased in the past. The wires are secure, and twisted heavly making it a little rough untill youve used it for a few min. After that is smooth and durable and works great for stipping paint and rust as well as cleaning welds.
