3.0 out of 5 stars Great at first but dulls quickly, July 31, 2008
By
Spina Da Dog (Long Beach, CA) - See all my reviews
I went through two of these to cut eight 14" x 6" holes in my 1950's era home for HVAC vents and *barely* made it. The edge dulls quickly when cutting a mix of thick drywall/plaster. A repeated 'plunging/sawing' action was required to get it to cut effectively. It did make a tough job easy but be prepared to buy a few to get the job done. All spiral saws are sacrifical in nature and will lose their edge quick so no surprises here. Three star rating due to misleading description about long life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow-- its sharp, hard, and cuts like a mad man, May 29, 2007

Dewalt made a really nice piece here. I always buy carbide 7 1/4 blades for my saw because they slice through flooring like a hot knife through butter. Put this into the dewalt 18V cutter and off you go, no matter what the material. Carbide holds its edge for years and is a great investment.

Compared to the spiralsaws this is alot less likely to break and can handle dental stone without a problem.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad bits, October 19, 2010

This review is from: DEWALT DW6611-1/8-Inch Carbide Burr Bit (Tools & Home Improvement)
These bits seem to get hot quickly and then break if you apply the least little bit of lateral pressure while using them. Won't buy them again unless all other bits I find perform the same way.
