The DW7232 can help reduce your setup,

I have the Dewalt miter stand that included two DW7232 stands however I was doing a large project that needed multiple stops both long and short. Instead of moving the existing DW7232 stands around constantly I added two more of the DW7232's on the main rail and was able to cut down the number of stop changes in half. In addition these added support in the middle to the long piece of wood that I was cutting. I just wish I had purchased these sooner.

Get two extra with stand,
This review is from: DEWALT DW7232 Miter Saw Workstation Work-Piece Support and Length Stop (Tools & Home Improvement)
When you buy the dewalt miter saw workstation be sure to get a couple of extra of thes supports. They come in very handy and mount right to the workstation. They give added support and the opertunity to use the length stops with out pulling in the extentions.Very easy to adjust.

The DeWalt miter saw stand increases the usefulness of the miter saw by many orders of magnatude! If you use your saw and stand as often as I use mine you will break one of these support arms. I rare this a three out of five stars only because I have had to replace two of them. There seems to be a problem with the welds on the clamp nuts.
Great stuff. I think I own one each of everything DeWalt makes. James Hatsis James1@OconeeAirService.com

I had the saw table run over by a customer and damaged one of the supports. I always said I was going to get a couple more and now I have. These are great to have at the very least three. I keep two on each side of the saw. one at the end of the extension and one at the end of the bench. Glad it got run over, so I had to get the extras I wanted anyway. Great product, great price. It's the best part of the saw.
I am a kitchen and bath remodeler and use this every day for about 4/5 years and never had a problem, only the ladies car did.

Just received this support from my son for Christmas. It will be mounted to the left of my miter saw. I can now support long and short material for cutting stock to exact length. This is going to save me substanial time in setup. I plan on purchasing another support for the right side also. Should have bought two of these supports when I bought the miter saw stand.

This is a nice add-on when cutting shorter lengths out of long stock. The stop is also handy for short muliples of trim.

As a support, this device works great. As a stop it leaves a little to be desired because it flexes a little bit. If you are cutting multiple pieces and need them to be the exact same length, the pressure you apply against the stop can make them slightly different lengths.

This is exactly what it says it is. You only get one, which seems a little expensive. But that is the norm with any dewalt accessory that I have ever bought. If it wasn't for the price I would have given it a five. Having four stops on the stand makes it more efficient, safer, and easier.

These optional support and length stops are the same as the two that come with the work stand. Having one or more extras helps in two ways. The extras can help support long, especially thin, workpieces, e.g. trim strips. As at least one other reviewer pointed out, you can use the extras to set up for several fixed length cuts that you need to do repeatedly, but not all at once.
Build quality is the same as the work stand which is to say very good. Thanks to the earlier reviewers for helping me make a good decision. I would recommend this extra stop to anyone needing the capabilities it provides.

have the Dewalt 708 Sliding mitre & stand which goes with these stops. Purchasing 2 additional stops allows support tor the work over its entire length and allows me to make repitive cuts of different lengths without moving the stops. It is a simple matter to flip up the stop and convert a support into a stop to make a precise repetitive cut. Note I had the older stand which has a sliding board and it did not work nearly as well as the one which works with these stops for a variety of reasons including sliding board jam due to sawdust, legs do not fold compactly. work support extensions ineffective, etc. The current stand is very well designed and I recommend it.
