DEWALT DW7880 Scroll-Saw Stand

Having this stand makes working with the DeWalt Scroll Saw a lot easier, especially if you don't have much bench space in your shop. Clean-up is much easier if you use your saw with this stand. Like all DeWalt products, the stand is built to last.

If you aren't aware of it DeWalt originally produced this 3 legged stand. For some reason they changed suppliers and decided to use a 4 legged stand that wasn't as rugged. I called DeWalt and questioned them about the change. They informed me that after NUMEROUS complaints they were going back to ther ORIGINAL style stand. The current stand ia a quality built heavy and solid
place to trust your scroll saw. there are also holes in the base of the legs to bolt it to the floor if you'd like.

This stand is almost a must and should be considered when buying
the dewalt scrollsaw. Because the saw has a few extra pounds to it
then some of the other saws on the market. So, you won't really want to
be carrying that saw around the garage (shop) to often. Stand has a nice
height to it, just pull a shop chair up to it and start sawing away.

I ordered the recondioned model and I am very happy. I received the item in less than a week. It went together like a charm. It only took 1 hour to put together and to mount the scrollsaw.

The stand is proud addition to my dewalt scrollsaw. Easy to put together,solid and strong.Very pleased with my purchased product and buying from Amazon was a breeze.You do have to leave the saw stand a little loose for that the saw fits like a glove.Then tighten everything up and your good to go .I added locking casters to make it mobile.Over all super !!!! another A+ for DEWALT....

Went together easy and is very sturdy. My saw operates very smooth on top of this stand. I rate dewalt tools very high.

What can you say about a stand? It went together easily enough and accomodates my 788 just fine. The legs have a lip on them to allow the stand to be anchored into the floor, however I was not about to ramset a scroll saw into my concrete shop floor. Or, maybe those holes are for wheels, hmmmmm. If you need a stand for your saw, get it.

In my initial review, I rated this product one star because it arrived as an incomplete package -- two legs and all the hardware were missing. I ordered a replacement from Amazon and it arrived after about 4 days. Out of the box, I noticed that all the finished parts were enclosed in a plastic sleave, which wasn't the case with the first shipment, so what I received was probably a canabalized return.

The stand was fairly easy to assemble, but, like another reviewer, I was perplexed that there were so many pieces. Every bolt has a nut, washer, and lock washer, and there's a lot of bolts. Deft fingers, a half-inch socket, and patience are needed to complete the assembly.

But, when done, the stand is sturdy. One confusing point - there's an adjustable (vertically) foot for the rear leg that tilts the saw downward back to front. I may take it off - anyone have any idea why it's there?

When placing the DW788 saw (which arrived broken, see my separate review of that) onto the stand, I was surprised that the saw base has little surface area contact with the stand, and that the mounting bolts go upwards from the stand top into the saw base such that the nuts and washers are visible (and snag-able). Not a big deal, just surprising given that the saw and stand are made for each other and all other stand nuts/bolts fasten with the nuts/washers being hidden.

I'm going to upgrade the stand rating from one star to three because it seems okay at this point. I'd like to see how the nuts and bolts withstand use; some engineering could remove the assembly complexity, in my opinion. Too bad Amazon won't let me change the star rating...

What can you say about a stand. It does what it's supposed to do. But if you buy from Amazon don't expect instructions with it. The first one I got was missing pieces and of course had no instructions. The second one had all the pieces but still no instructions. Pretty simple to put together, but you better have a good picture to go by. By the way, both stands I recieved had been previously opened, so what you will be getting will most likely be a return of some sort.

A must have for this saw. Heavy,sturdy, eliminates all vibration, easy to rap your legs around while working, perfecdt height.
