This is a great item, the variable speed control lets you cut even the hardest metals with ease. The LED is very bright and a very nice touch since the saw often blocks the light from your cutting path.
The cutting table is a good size and made of solid steel allowing you to securely press agaisnt the metal to make a fine cut.
The saw is surprisingly quiet, ergonomically comfortable to use despite the weight and the rubber end-bumpers help protect it during use and storage.
This is the same saw as the one sold in the kit, only the case is not included, if you plan to use this often, just setup a mount on a stud and hang it for easy accessibility. Once you get one of these, you might as well throw out your old hacksaw.
Like most of my other Dewalt tools, I'm sure this will provide years and years of reliable use.

Light weight, but solidly built. Powered through a 3" solid bar of brass and 1" steel rod with no problem. Variable speed is a nice feature. Dewalt has been a reliable brand for me in the past.
