This is a good book to start with to review for the NATE or other tests. It only has a limited number of questions though. I took the NATE Heat Pump test and passed with this books help, but it only had 50 sample questions for Heat Pump's and the NATE test had 100 questions. My suggestion is that there be more sample questions. I'd also like to see a reference for additional information if you don't understand a question. This book serves a purpose, but could be a better tool...

This book is absolutely the standard for the NATE Exam. Not only does it give you insight on the types of questions to study for, but it gives you information on how to beat the test writers at their own game. A very good read!

I used this book as part of a review for 9 techs who took both the Heat Pump and Gas Heating exams. ALL said the same thing: "Sample questions in this book are not an indication of the exam questions, not even close."

Good product for the price. I was looking for a way to start training my technicians for NATE certification and this DeWalt publication is getting us off to a good start. The test taking tips are very useful.

This book is a convenient way to practice exam questions but is limited in the number of questions. It has no references to help you understand the questions (ie formulas or calculations). The CD provided with the book for practice exams has several errors. For instance, there was one question with the exact same answer for two of the choices. There were two questions that left out pertinent information needed to calc the answer.
