About the Author

Theresa L. Garnero is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management, has a Master of Science Degree in Nursing, is a Certified Diabetes Educator by day, and an internationally published cartoonist by night. The youngest of 7 children of Italian descent, humor was revered – especially around the crowded dinner table – and planted the seeds of silliness and ambition. She uses multicultural images to promote diabetes education efforts and inspire the use of cartooning as an art form. Having made a difference in her clinical practice, her hope is that many more may benefit from the humor.

Theresa Garnero, a RN and Certified Diabetes Educator, has taken her wonderful talent as a cartoonist and created DIABETease. Simply put, it is a book of cartoons, which shows everyday situations faced by all diabetics. In so doing she makes it informative and educational; and puts a smile on your face at the same time - a very rare experience when dealing with diabetes. Truly effective!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The lighthearted delivery of information was easy to absorb and the pictures made it easy to retain. This book is fun and easy to read.

I don't have diabetes but several of my loved ones and friends do. Giving the book Diabetease was a way for me to show my support and love in addition to giving them a great resource for information.

I have read this book and it is great! It is simple but direct, and an excellent blend of humor and information. This book is great for kids and adults, whether you are educating yourself or your family and friends. It educates without scaring people and makes some really go points.

I would recommend this book to everyone!
