Book Description

From protagonists and antagonists, to dialogue and conflict, DIGITAL INK is a powerful, succinct, and entertaining book that will dramatically improve any writer’s work.

Suddenly it's a cinch to publish -- pop your manuscript up online via Amazon’s KDP, INScribe, Smashwords, or Pubit! and voilá, you've got an e-book. The number of authors, self-published and otherwise, is exploding. But what everybody seems to be talking about is marketing. They're overlooking the actual writing. There’s a lot of talk about the sizzle, and yet scant attention to the steak.

This book says hold on a minute! It's not just marketing; it has to be a great book. You have to know how to write. Funny and fast, as a book must be in the digital age, DIGITAL INK takes you through all the basics: dialogue, plot, character development, POV, and more. DIGITAL INK will transform your writing.

"Digital Ink is a MUST READ for unpublished authors, as well as those of us who wish to review our craft. Tried and true techniques that work in any market.
--New York Times bestselling author, Kat Martin

"This book is packed with clear information, advice, and examples that will transform your novel. Before you publish, read this book!"
--Jen Calonita, bestselling author of SECRETS OF MY HOLLYWOOD LIFE, SLEEPAWAY GIRLS, and the new series for Young Adults, BELLES

5.0 out of 5 stars Want Your E-Book to Sell? Read DIGITAL INK June 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
"Yes, everyone is talking about marketing e-books and making a fortune. Here's what hasn't been said: You can market your heart out, you can tweet and blog like a hacker on meth, but if you have not written a compelling novel that makes the reader want to put everything else on hold, you're not going to make the sale." -Digital Ink

Memorize the above quote from DIGITAL INK. Why? If the free chapter of your e-book doesn't hook the reader, he or she will never push the "Buy" button.

This amazing how-to on writing is packed with to-the-point information that every fiction writer must know. It's a fast, in-your-face read that will teach you how to create killer fiction that will sell.

Bonnie Hearn Hill and Christopher Poe are masters of understanding the psychology of character development. They take you beneath the superficial level of good guys and bad guys to force you to dig down and understand what makes your characters take action. You'll learn how to make conflict real in a scene.

The chapters on the protagonist and the antagonist are my favorites, if I can have two. You'll be challenged to examine the hero and the villain in your own writing and go deeper. When you do, your writing will take a quantum leap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep Digital Ink at Your Writing Desk June 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
There are a lot of books on the market that claim to help us write fiction. Digital Ink delivers on its promise. In succinct terms it gives clear definitions and examples of what we really need to know. For example, we all have an idea of what a point of view is, however fuzzy that may be. But what's a deep point of view and is it important? The book not only tells us why it is, but how to do it. Do you want to learn about creating conflict without reading an entire book on it? Digital Ink demonstrates it in a few steps. What about dialogue? Hill and Poe show us when to use it to build conflict, resolution and pace. Can you weave in backstory without creating the dreaded information dump? How to avoid that very horror is in here, too. Scenes, transitions, and getting to the action are also sections of this fabulous, snappy "how to" book.

Digital Ink can be read in one sitting. Or you can pick and choose a chapter about a specific technique. The organizational method helps me find what I need at any given moment in time. I can toss out about ten writing books currently on my desk that are rambling and lack in any real information. They can all be replaced with this one crown jewel.

Written with humor and grace, Hill and Poe have taken all the essential elements of successful fiction writing and shared them with us. By the way, if you read the fiction of these successful authors, you'll find that they write with the very skills they share in this book. There's no better proof of the book's value than that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Writing Book Ever June 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Digital Ink is the best book on writing I have ever read. As much fun to read as a novel, this book shows how to pit memorable characters against each other in scenes full of dialogue and conflict that readers can't resist. It also explains how to use deep point of view to let the characters tell their own story.

My favorite part is "THE BIG HOOK: FISHING FOR JAWS," which describes how to hook readers quickly so they will click the buy button.

If you've been writing in circles and don't know why, get your hands on this brand new e-book, and find out how to write your way to nirvana.

It's a great how-to by two great writer's writers. Get their easy-to-read book and get editing.

Writing a novel can feel daunting. Mistakes don't matter. Therein you learn.

Don't worry about the big scope of things--will I ever climb Mt. Everest. But go scene by scene--who wants what, and how do they get it.

Bonnie and Chris will turn on the light. It's up to you to open your eyes and push your pen.

From two celebrated authors whose books are impossible to put down comes a how-to that not only tells us how to write, but also how to make the most of the E-book's impact on the publishing industry. DIGITAL INK is a greyhound of a read, not only in its brevity - a mere 80-some pages - but in its verbal economy. You will find not one extra word. Even so, Bonnie Hearn Hill and Christopher Allan Poe enhanced their succinct points with humor.
Do you write? Do you want to take advantage of the E-book Age? Then you want this book.
Thank you, Ms. Hearn Hill and Mr. Poe.

This is hands down the best writing book I have bought. Everything they tell you is useful and concise, you will not be bored by long winded chapters. This book could be used to edit your already written novel or help you get one down on the page.
