5.0 out of 5 stars Soft, pudgy sponges
I like these sponges. They hold the suds while washing dishes. The sponges remain soft when they are dry and do not get crisp like some dried sponges. The red microfiber color will run when the sponge is new, but immersing the sponge in cold water and a little vinegar stops the color bleeding immediately. I have been using the Martha Stewart microfiber sponges and loved them, but they are no longer available anywhere so I purchased this set. I like these sponges. They hold the suds while washing dishes. The sponges remain soft when they are dry and do not get crisp like some dried sponges. The red microfiber color will run when the sponge is new, but immersing the sponge in cold water and a little vinegar stops the color bleeding immediately. I've not found anything that works as well cleaning stainless steel appliances -- wipe with a damp sponge and immediately follow with a dry one. They rinse quite clean at the sink and are machine washable.

Amendment March 2010: I've now used these sponges for 6 months -- still no problems with odor or ripped seams -- they've held up beautifully. When wet, I keep them in an inexpensive sponge holder that suctions to the inside of the sink, so the sponge is exposed to air on all sides and can dry quickly. After 6 months, I still say this is a 5 star item!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as others, September 11, 2009
This review is from: DII Microfiber Sponge, Set of 3 (Kitchen)
I have been using the Martha Stewart microfiber sponges and loved them, but they are no longer available anywhere so I purchased this set. Actually, I purchased three sets - one set for me and two more for my sisters. These are not the quality that I had hoped, nor do they perform as well. First of all, the "loops" of microfiber are more like regular terrycloth than microfiber, so they don't have the cleaning power of traditional microfiber. They behave like a plush sponge with a less than superior cover, therefore you have to scrub a lot harder than with a better quality microfiber. Second, after less than a month of use, I had to retire one sponge and start using another because the seams opened up on the "microfiber" covering, exposing the sponge inside. This didn't happen on the Martha Stewart brand until the sponge was at least six months old, and I used to put those in the dishwasher and washing machine a couple times a week. Third, the sponge is actually too thick. This means that with the covering and sponge wet, it takes way too long to dry. They will stay soggy and get a little smelly.

Although these come in great colors to coordinate with the kitchen (Martha's only came in that ugly pale turquoise color) I don't think they are worth buying as anything more than a decorative sponge to wipe countertops or something lightweight duty like that. My sisters had similar experiences to mine, but were not as critical of the quality as me because they never had the really good quality microfiber sponges to compare to - they had lowered expectations for their sponges. I hope this review helps you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but not for heavy use, April 22, 2010

The colors are beautiful on these but they won't hold up to daily use. The stitching will come out if you use it a lot - you can sew it back up. The sponge can get a little ripe if you don't wash it regularly. I actually took the sponge out of one of them and use it as a cloth. They won't last forever but they're prettier than the cellulose sponges you buy in the grocery store.

They won't last forever - use them, enjoy them and when they start to look tattered, toss them.

I love these sponges. They are great for cleaning the bathroom and kitchen as they pick up dirt very well. And I simply wash and reuse them, so I'm not wasting paper towels or wet wipes to clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Microfiber Sponges are the best!, January 21, 2010

Having used microfiber cloths and loving them, I decided to try the sponges! I love them as well. Keeping stainless steel appliances clean and streak free is a challenge at best. Using a wet sponge to clean and a dry sponge to dry works wonders! They go in the laundry when soiled and are ready to go to work again when dried. I heartily recommend!!

3.0 out of 5 stars They could have been fabulous, November 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The concept behind this product is great, if only it had been executed properly. The sponges are attractive, the microfiber is super absorbent, but they fall apart in the wash! I had to mend the sides of two of them after only two washes, which meant sewing them by hand with tiny stitches (double thread), in hopes that will resolve the problem. Too bad the manufacturer took a shortcut instead of making these right. Otherwise, this would have been a 5-star review. Would not recommend to someone else.

Use these sponges when cleaning a couple motorcycles. Does a good job and so far, seems to hold up to bouncing back into shape.

5.0 out of 5 stars Microfiber Is Amazing, March 17, 2011

I love my microfiber sponges. They are great to clean surfaces you don't want scratched with (stainless steel sink). I put mine in the dishwasher to kill the germs and make it last longer. They are nice, soft sponges that absorb a lot.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sponges, November 10, 2010
These sponges worked well for about a month before all 3 came apart at the side seam. Foam sponge inside is not very firm & weakens over a few months of light use.

Do not clean well, and do not stay clean for long. Good concept, poor execution.
