Bright dimmable bulbs,

I don't know how you pick good quality dimmers as recommended on the box, but these bulbs work great with my dimmers. I deducted one star because I've had a couple of bulbs burn out way too soon, but the rest have never been changed and are still working great.

The cfl's are dimmable with most modern dimmers, built after 1995. The best way to use these lamps are to install them and run them for about 1 hour at 100% to set them properly, and not to mix different size lamps on the same dimmer circuit, nor to expect much less the 30% as the lowest setting. As the newer and more expensive units come to market, they will dim down to nearly 10% of full brightness. I like the idea of reducing energy waste, and when LED lighting gets going that will be much more cost saving, but right now LED's do not dim at all, but do last in excess of 50,000 hours. I am an electrician with over 42 years experience at my trade, and I still have a few regular incandescent lamps in my home, in the dining room for special situations, with a heavy duty and old Lutron dimmer. As my 25 watt lamps burn out, I replace them with 10 watt units, and as the fixture has 2 dozen lamps, nobody really notices or misses much.

They are bright, but they do not work in my dimmers. They go out when you try to dim them. Oh, well, they are cheap
