Book Description

Updated edition of
DINNER - 55 Easy Recipes, Volume I of the Mama's Legacy Series! More than twice the number of recipes that were included in original edition published in early 2012.  This is a MUST HAVE cookbook for all busy moms and dads who want to feed their families well.

This first volume includes some of my personal favorites among the hundreds of recipes that I have collected over the years. Even though I was married for the first 20 years of my children's lives, I always had to work - so there was never a lot of extra time for cooking.  As a result, I was always on the lookout for recipes that were easy to prepare in the shortest amount of time possible and at a cost that would allow me to stay within my budget.

I have other recipes that are more complicated, but I wanted to begin with the easier family favorites that met the above criteria. Most of the recipes in this volume range from very easy to easy, with only a few that are slightly more difficult.

Try them all! To start I recommend some of the quick and easy ones: Balsamic Pork Chops, Carne Asada, Linguini with Clam Sauce, Baked Mac and Cheese Casserole.

Find the ones you love to prepare and the ones your family enjoys the most. Enjoy this new cooking adventure!

Review

The author doesn't let us down on this book. I've come across many ebook cookbooks that appear like word documents. This one is not the case. There are pictures, there's nutritional information complete with how many servings there are and the size of the servings. The recipes look absolutely delicious. There are recipe tips that make me feel that the author really stands behind what they have written.

About the Author

All things beautiful are my passion. I enjoy anything that a masterful hand creates. Writing is one of those and cooking is another. They both captured my interest and imagination at a very young age.

The "Mama's Legacy Series" was a pleasure to create because it allowed me to tap into my interests and to publish cookbooks that my audience can use and enjoy time and time again.

I began my love affair with cooking when I was very young. As soon as I could reach the counter top my mother gave me free reign in the kitchen. I was allowed to mix and mix and mix, building my masterpieces. They were nothing more that wild combinations of flour, sugar, spices and water; but, to me it was creating at its best. When I finished with each endeavor, I tossed it all and happily cleaned up the kitchen, looking forward to the next time. My creative spirit in the kitchen had taken root.

My first adventure in writing came my senior year in high school when I decided to take a writing correspondence course, which was very forward looking for the time. I experienced the first thrill of putting pen to paper, and all these years later it is still one of the most pleasurable activities in my life.

If I had my druthers, I would write all the time. In fact, that is pretty much what I do because I have reached a point in my life where it is now possible.

In addition to the "Mama Legacy Cookbook Series" I have two other cookbooks, "Cake Making Made Easy" and "Candy Making Made Easy." They are not only cookbooks; they provide detailed instructions on how to make cakes and candy. The cake book includes 60 delicious cake recipes and the candy book includes 17 starter recipes so the instructions can be applied immediately.

I loved writing both instruction books, especially the candy book, because it brought back so many wonderful memories of candy-making with my family on those long summer nights when I was a young girl.

Author Nancy Wilson's cookbook Dinner 27 Recipes is a delightful treasure of easy recipes which will delight your palate. Better yet the recipes are easy to prepare making cooking less of a chore. Inside her cookbook you will find color photos depicting the prepared recipe. There is also an active table of contents making navigation easy.

Some of the recipes you will find in this cookbook, with photos, include:

Balsamic Pork Chops
Easy Parmesan Garlic Chicken
Easy Lamb Curry
Poached Salmon
Baked Mac and Cheese Casserole
Linguine with Clam Sauce
Chili Beans and Rice

Some of the recipes, such as the Baked Mac and Cheese Casserole, use prepared ingredients to help complete the recipe. The mac and cheese recipe uses two 12 ounce packages of Stouffer's frozen Macaroni and Cheese along with Ortega Taco Seasoning mix.

Overall, this is a lovely, practical cookbook.

Recommend.

I don't make new year's resolutions, but I did recently decide to try more new recipes each month. My husband and I want to eat at home more, both to lose weight and save money. The recipes in this book feature ingredients readily available at our supermarket and each has clear directions. The photos are good, too. This is a good cookbook for inexperienced cooks as well as those who know their way around the kitchen; the more experienced cook will get some ideas and adapt the recipes. The cilantro chicken with mushrooms is WONDERFUL, by the way. I look forward to trying more of these recipes in the coming months.

More About the Author

All things beautiful are my passion. I enjoy anything that a masterful hand creates. Writing is one of those, cooking is another and the third is development of the human spirit. The first two captured my interest and imagination at a very young age, the third came much later.

My first series, "Mama's Legacy Cookbooks," was a pleasure to create because it allowed me to tap into the two early interests and to publish cookbooks that my audience can use and enjoy time and time again.

I began my love affair with cooking when I was very young. As soon as I could reach the counter top my mother gave me free range in the kitchen. I was allowed to mix and mix and mix, building my masterpieces. They were nothing more that wild combinations of flour, sugar, spices and water, but to me it was creating at its best. When I finished with each endeavor, we tossed it all and happily cleaned up the kitchen, looking forward to the next time. My creative spirit in the kitchen had taken root.

My first adventure in writing came my senior year in high school when I decided to take a writing correspondence course, which was very forward-looking for the time. I experienced the first thrill of putting pen to paper, and all these years later it is still one of the most pleasurable activities in my life.

The power of the human spirit and an understanding of the personal power we all possess came in my mid- to late forties when I found myself a divorced, single-mother of four children - two teenager daughters and two young boys. Suddenly, I was on my own and had to find a way to make it all work. The following years of deep personal introspection and self discovery were amazing and life changing; and now, I want to share my thoughts and experience with others through my writing.

If I had my druthers, I would write all the time. In fact, that is pretty much what I do because I have reached a point in my life where it is now possible.

In addition to the "Mama Legacy Cookbook Series" and "Cake Making Made Easy," I have another book, "Candy Making Made Easy" that provides detailed instructions about the candy-making process and 16 starter recipes to help apply what the reader has learned. I loved writing this book because it brought back so many wonderful memories of candy-making with my mom on those long summer nights when I was a young girl.

My more recent works have moved in a slightly different direction. "Attitude Adjustment - Make Your Whole Outlook Brand New," discusses the impact that attitude can have on the life you live. Is it one of constant doom and gloom, or one of happiness and joy. If it is the later, terrific - keep doing what you are doing! If it is the gloom and doom, negative attitude that pushes people away, the book gives you some options of things you can do to change. It is a short book, but full of great information.

"DETOX - The Master Cleanse Diet" provides a detailed, step-by-step set of instructions on how to properly cleanse your body - to help you eliminate all the toxic waste build up that is making you feel sluggish and less than excited about facing each day. It is a great first step toward better health and and a greater sense of well being.

I have several other Kindle books written under pen names with a number of books in process.

All my work is non-fiction. Even though I love fiction, that has never been my focus and there are others who do it so much better than I. My choice has always been and will continue to be to write about topics that interest and intrigue me and to share what I discover with my readers.
