5.0 out of 5 stars Wow
Now that DirectTV has 70 HD channels and is headed for 100 you will need this dish. Works great, spend some time aiming it and be sure you get the best signal you can.

Although I was extremely dissatisfied with my purchase the seller made it right. He buys different parts of satellites from different vendors and puts them together to make one complete system. That's alright but not what I thought I was buying. The system I bought had parts that weren't new and didn't fit together properly. Therefore it caused many problems. The professional installer had to manipulate the parts to make it fit together. When it was finished it didn't look good but more important it didn't receive a good signal. But after contacting the seller he apologized for his mistake and was readily willing to rectify the situation. He replaced it with a new more expensive satellite system that he bought in a complete set. He also sent me a return shipping label. He went over and above to satisfy. I put up the new satellite system and it works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrong pictures!, January 28, 2010

The middle picture is the AT9 also called the "Side-Car" model which performs exactly like the newer Slimline model. There's no difference between the two other than one is a little more prettier than the other an the reflector on the Slimline model is slightly bigger which may or may not yield a better signal strength.

1.0 out of 5 stars Aug 2011 this antenna design works but its obsolete, August 22, 2011
This review is from: DIRECTV AT9 KaKu 5 LNB HD / HD Locals Dish (Electronics)
Directv replaced this old design with a whole new set of Larger Single Wire Module (SWM)3 LNB and 5 LNB antennas to pick-up Hi Def TV from the 99 and 103 (Ku and Ka) satellites. Standard Def TV comes from the other three satellites, the 101, 110 and 119 satellites Check the internet for sellers of the Directv Slim Line antennas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Services & Merchandise, November 14, 2010

This review is from: DIRECTV AT9 KaKu 5 LNB HD / HD Locals Dish (Electronics)
Ordered DirectTV Satellitee antenna for a new HD TV. Received the product when promised, in it's own original package with the LNB's in a separate box packaged wonderful. All equipment was included, brand new, with each piece wrapped separately. A book of instructions on how to install the dish was also included. I couldn't ask for better quality and service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrong Picture, February 28, 2008
Although the title says AT9 Satellite Dish Antenna, the picture on Amazon.com shows the newer Slimline AU9-S dish. This dish is the upgrade of the AT9 so to speak.

This item was purchased as a replacement for an earlier edition of the same thing. It works great and was well worth the money. Picture is very clear. And with the new flat-screen TV, I'm happy to have it up and running smoothly.

The product was shipped USPS and it took nearly 2 weeks to get from Illinois to Kentucky, one state away. I would suggest using anyone except USPS!

1.0 out of 5 stars One Star Too Many, November 20, 2007
By
I have never experienced worse service in my life. It took 3 appointments for installation, and even then it was not completed correctly. Eventually I had to have a technician come out to fix what should have been done at installation as well as an inexplicable loss of my HD channels. This also took multiple appointments, as well as extended hold times to get to a person. The first guy that came out (during a convenient 4 hour window) completed the installation, but told me the dish needed to be adjusted to get HD. He didn't have a ladder so I had to set up another appt. The second guy (another 4 hour window) said the dish was fine, what I needed was some new hardware. I got the hardware and it still didn't work. In the end I cancelled my service early and went back to my local cable provider. Because DirecTV makes you sign a 2 year contract, in addition to being out the money for the HD DVR DirecTV box, I'm being charged $250 for early cancellation.
DirecTV has been an expensive, frustrating and painful lesson.
