This is a new dish from DIRECTV with three LNBs to receive 99°, 101°, 103° satellites. This dish operates with the new MPEG4 H20 HDTV receiver (where local HD programming is available). Reflector size: 22.5" x 32.5" Use it for HD local channel programming from DIRECTV Built-in 8-channel multi-switch which allows you to connect multiple receivers at once. includes required 21v Power Insert-er. Amazon Verified Purchase
First of all, the dish arrived in the most amazingly well-packed way I've ever received any item via shipping. It took a while to get out out of the packaging, but I'm pretty sure the UPS truck could have run it over and done no damage to the parts inside.
The instructions were thorough, all the parts were present. I spent more time finding a suitable location (i.e. no trees in the way) and all the tools I needed than actually mounting and leveling. Use a good compass -- none of the compass apps on my smart phone were accurate enough. Thankfully I had an engineering compass from my boy scouting days, and it lined up like a champ.
Note that you cannot use the cheap satellite alignment detectors with SWM dishes, but most of the newer receivers are fast enough (HR-24, etc) that you can use their signal-strength indicators effectively.

I ordered this dish because DirecTV said it would take 6 weeks before they could get around to install a new dish so I could get HD programming and this was the best price I could find.
I began to be a bit concerned with the vendor when, just a few hours after sending in my order, I received an email from Amazon announcing the package had been shipped but I could not find the tracking number in the FedEx system. My credit card was quickly charged so I was starting to wonder what I had gotten into. Not to worry, though, several days later the package was delivered to FedEx and they delivered it promptly.
The dish arrived in excellent condition - the packaging was not factory original but, it was much better packaged than any product I've ever received. They must have used a mile or more of tape and I spent quite a while cutting up the packaging after I'd unpacked the dish to get all the packing in the recycle bin.
The package contained everything needed to install and set up the dish. I spent some time online researching my own dish setup (and found and watched the videos DirecTV uses to train their techs) but was still wondering if I was up to the challenge. The installation went very smoothly (I was able to do this faster than the DirecTV tech had done a previous installation for me).
Unlike some other reviewers, I was able to use a low cost generic "satellite finder" meter for the setup which I then validated through the DirecTV setup menu. The instructions were comprehensive and complete although they seemed to be for a more generic installation as they listed several options.
I was up and running in HD a little over a week after DirecTV told me it would take six weeks or more to install my dish.

Amazon Verified Purchase
Directv technicians refused to install our dish on our floating home due to the obvious movement issues. Our dish arrived in perfect condition and we installed it on a piling. We used our receiver to aim our dish and soon had our system up and running. We learned that with this dish and hd dvr setup you need to use all the parts included to zero in on the southern satellite. Also, the cheap satellite finder is a superfluous piece of equipment we didn't take out of the box. Once we figured out the general direction of Texas, we were good to go. The receiver did all the work and is now working perfectly.
