-5 stars is my real review,

This movie was so bad that I actually left after 5 minutes and snuck in to see the House Bunny which was way better. From the little that I did see of this dud it was just plain terrible. For example, this character in a dream sequence meets Amy Winehouse and she proceeds to burp for at least 1-2 minutes. Its was so unfunny. I was the only one in the theater. BAD BAD BAD BAD. If someone ever buys the DVD it would be only for the purpose of #1) TORTURING someone or #2) the director himself bought the only copy. What a horrible, horrible movie!

Seldom has a flick been more appropriately titled than "Disaster Movie." This is another painfully unfunny entry from the stunningly untalented writing and directing team of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. It was very hot out today and my woman and I just wanted to cool off and possibly be entertained. This movie is cheap, lazy, and sloppy, an obvious throwaway that no one put any effort into. There is not a single laugh in it. Friedberg and Seltzer demonstrate an astonishing unawareness of how to write a gag, much less how to film it. They kill time by staging dance-offs and fight sequences, because those things are easy to write. Some movies like "Plan 9 From Outer Space" are so bad that they turn out to be funny, but this one can't even claim that status. We were the only two people in the theater and it is a good thing because this experience was an embarrassment. I will forever be ashamed to tell anyone that I actually saw this garbage, let alone paid for it. If I ever happen upon either Jason Friedberg or Aaron Seltzer around town, I will demand my $15 back. Bottom line: insert "of a" between the two title words and you have the correct title for this movie. I did cool off at least. |
