Definitely a mixed bag here. There are some great, old hardcore punk bands, but even some of their songs--Conflict e.g.,--come across poorly. A lot of newer bands, especially of the German variety, that have the old oi! sound, and some crappy rock bands that aren't even punk, but the good stuff would have fit on one disc and been shorter than either of these two DVDs. A couple new bands I hadn't heard of were good finds, but mostly generic.The old, live P&D DVD have much better stuff from the old bands (Exploited, English Dogs, Varukers, Abrasive Wheels, Blitz, GBH, etc.), but those discs are half crap, too. |
