Excellent Resource April 10, 2012

The book is well organized with each chapter focusing on a different topic/home cleaner. The steps are clearly explained on how to make each cleaner and there are also resources (helpful one's!) provided by the authors too. I wanted to start making my own dishwasher detergent initially but this book really got my thinking and now I think I'll be trying a lot of other ideas in this book. Citric acid is a main ingredient for many of these cleaners so make sure you find a pure but reasonably priced choice. This has been one of the best I have found used so far, Citric Acid Anhydrous Food Grade Flavoring Bulk Powder 1 Kg (2.2 Lbs).

I also think that when reading this book, a pen and pencil will come in handy because there is not just one or two ideas in here you'll want to remember. If you are reading this book to find a way to save money but more importantly minimize the amount of harmful chemicals that your family comes in contact with, then you'll find this book invaluable and the information it provides.

I love the book!! I use many of the products in your book and love tweaking them to work best for me and my family, especially when it comes to the essential oils, which I love using. I actually started selling some of the products I've made at local vendor shows. I'm creating a healthier home for my family and others and I'm also earning a few bucks along the way! I have been using vinegar for 12 years as a cleaner, but had no idea of the extent of its' use, along with many other of the products I typically have in my home. My daughter's allergic to artificial dyes, so I've always eliminated them from food, lotions, toothpaste, medicines, etc. But when I saw my little son start sucking on his shirt sleeves, I really began worrying about what he's actually ingesting with the chemical detergents. Thank you Matt and Betsy for opening my eyes! Thank you for encouraging all of your readers to become more conscious stewards of our beautiful Earth. Looking forward to the next book! You guys rock! This handy guide is exactly what I've been looking for! I made the switch to DIY Natural after having a baby and wanting to detoxify my home. Now I'm never going back. DIY Natural has everything from bathroom cleaners to laundry detergent to air fresheners, and it's all so simple. The best part is, I am no longer using toxic cleaners and chemicals in my home, and I'm having fun doing it! I also have the ebook, but it's nice to have this handy little guide within reach, as I don't always have access to my computer. I highly recommend this book!
